Hi, thinking about building some light climbing clinchers. Deciding on the rims - Kinlin XR200 or regular carbon clincher 24mm deep rim (like carbonspeedcycle or carbonzone on ebay). Any thoughts?

I use Stans Alpha 340 hoops for climbing wheels. Aluminum for braking, a little wider inner width, and tubeless ready.

Anyone got any reviews on light bicycles new 25mm wide rims? I'm thinking about building a set of 45 or 55mm rims up with hope pro4s.

From Carbon Cycle on eBay. Dealt with Rae - emails answered comprehensively within hours (some instantly) and wheels in my hands 15 days after ordering, impressed so far.

Weights are pretty much as advertised at 1385g pair, actual 1408g.

Been riding and racing Wheelsmith 38mm 23mm V tubs for last 2 years and looking forward to seeing how my new wheels match up. The WS have been excellent, just tired of the inconvenience and cost of tubs.

Will post up thoughts when I get them suited and booted.

I assume you've had some time on these by now. How do you like them? Anything a bit off that you don't like? Also, what size tires are you running? Thanks.

I noticed that 24h/28h is not common and the only wheelset in this configuration is 30mm http://www.wheelsfar.com/road-wheels/cl ... elset.html
Can someone post links besides Far Sports? Carbon-cycle is selling rim only in 28h but where's the 24h? http://www.ebay.com/itm/28-Holes-Carbon ... 1361607752

Perhaps 24h/28h is an over build for stiff carbon rims in contrast to aluminum build hence 24h/28h is not common?

Has anyone found some of the better sellers offering silver hubs, spokes & nipples as an option? Can't find any.............not even as an up-charge.

I haven't, that's why I ordered the parts and will build the wheels myself.

Silver CN spokes can be found, silver hubs are even harder, Dati do some I think.

Anyone know of a source for 650c carbon clinchers that are 23mm wide?
I haven't been able to find anything in 650c that wasn't 20mm.
Anything 23mm and up would be great. 38mm/40mm/50mm depth are all fine.

the rear hub has an axle that is so flimsy that the freehub would bind up momentarily when coasting over bumps. I was about 160lbs when I built a wheelset with them, and apparently that was too heavy.

I replaced that hub with one from BHS(laced 8:16), and couldn't be happier.
