No, haven't tested them yet. Waiting for some yellow tape, I ran out 15 cm before valve hole on 2nd wheel :(

I also have bought eggbeater 3's and titanium spindles. Still have to weigh the spindles as they haven't arrived yet, but I should end up around 7550g suspended, and sub 6.5kg rigid. Now, where to shed some more weight to get down to original target?

Hi there,

First of all, nice bike, congrats :D

Can you tell us what kind of problem did you had with your first set of wheels?

I'm thinking of lacing a bor xmd333 up with an extralite Hyper JF 15mm on the front, and I'd like to know what kind of problems did you had with your wheels.

I'm just going for such a light hub on the front, I don't like very light hubs on the rear, mainly because of the freewheel that tend to be fragile.

Cheers

Stuka: Thanks!

My rear hub chipped the teeth on the floating ring this part. On the front there were no problems at all.

What is your experience with the flyxxi rigid 29 fork? It is so cheap that i don't expect it to be very good....

The fork itself is ok. But it came with a slightly off-size steertube dimension and crown race setting dimension. When sandpapered it works ok though! It's actually a little bit flexy even for me, so heavier riders should stay away.

It was not a stupid project, it did what it was supposed to do (bring me superfast over a mountain). Now I'm making it more off-road friendly with knobby tires and suspension fork.
