On a similar mission to that myself, in terms of budget and target weight. Your stem weight isn't too awful, but you could shave a fair bit off on the bars and post. I've settled on a combo of kcnc post and bars (156g and 209g for uncut 350 mm and 31.8 42cm respectively) and the good old kalloy Uno 7 stem at 108g for 100mm. Obtained by careful eBaying for about 60 quid all in, and a good half pound off. Components all seem stiff and strong enough, and match ok once the stem is stripped.

A few updates for this year. GP4000s IIs and Challenge latex tubes, Pro Digital Carbon bar tape, handbuilt 50mm carbon/aluminum clinchers on BHS hubs and Sapim Lasers.

Added a little weight, now it's like 7.3 kg. Oh well.

Going into its fourth season of duty now. Will be seeing action in local crits and circuit races again.

50cm
DT240 28h 2x to Pacenti SL23
Schwalbe One 25mm + Vredestein latex
SRAM Red
3T Dorico Team / ARX Pro / Ritchey Neo Classic
Romin
Hollowgram SL + Praxis 50/30

Nothing fancy or exotic. Last weigh in put it in around 15.5lbs, but I expect it's creeped up slightly with the 25mm rubber.

thats nice with the silver hollowgrams. Just got a pair to go in my spooky, wish cannondale still made the silver. Look awesome with praxis rings (which is also what I am going to run, the classics though)

That's a nice solid build, that wheelset really suits it.

Dude that CAAD9 is pretty sweet. May I ask why you use a setback on your BMC and a straight post on the CAAD? Isn't the STA steeper on the 9?

Yeah I was trying to get a straight post for the BMC, but the straight Deda post was out of stock (and matchy matchy is the rule) so I settled on an aluminum 12mm setback post in the meantime. Plus the CAAD 9 is crit bike, so steepening the effective STA and "raising" the saddle makes a lower front end easier to hold cause hip angles and etc. It's working so far! First raceday yesterday and I was in the drops the whole time for both races and it felt SUPER dialed and comfortable.
