Still pulling all the parts together and working out the Di2 wiring,
Frameset Dengfu R02, size 52
San Marco Aspide saddle,
Copy Canyon H11 Cockpit,
SWorks carbon crankset,
Ultegra Di2 shifters and mechs 11 speed, with sprint shifters,
Sram HydroR rim brakes,

A quick photo (not the final saddle height) with some old Navigator Tubs that will need to be re-dished for 11 speed.

Looking good so far (maybe new decals for the wheels?), the paint matched seatpost is a nice touch.

That looks great.

Out of interest, what sort of quality control would be in place with this frame ?

Looks like a veritable bargain...

Did quite a bit of research, and have had a couple of Xiamen Iplay frames before, so dealing with China and Dengfu was what i expected.

Not a massive amount of help on technical issues such as all the dimensional data and cable routing details ( as i'm running Di2 i would have prefered the shifter cable ports to be blanked off in the carbon rather than inserts. But i'm not paying custom frame prices, and the plastic insert blanks are good quality.

Quality control wise, they have a good reputation on many forums and on their website show cert's for passing approvals (although if your cynical anything can be faked or special units built to pass certain tests).
Generally the quality is good, the frame is nicely finished off inside and out, the bolts etc for bottle cages and seat-post are just steel, but £10 was enough to replace them all with Ti or anodised aluminium ones. and the paint job is good it has a nice matt finish with the fork legs gloss. They offer a bewildering range of colours any pantone colour is available.

its early days of the build so far but the headset and seat post are a good fit, and wheel alignment seems fine. Bottom brackets next so will see how good the fit in the Aluminium inserts is.

Some more parts underway,

S Works cranks with logos removed and a rattle can refinish of the clearcoat,

One gutted climbing shifter and some pre Etube Durace sprint shifters, with a bit of soldering will give me some sprint shifters to work with 6770 2 port shift/brake levers.

Nice color!
Do you have a weight for the frame and forks?

Thanks, colour was a bit hard to choose with so may options, its based on another companies colour scheme see if you can guess who's.

Frame weight is slightly disappointing at 1054grammes including mech hanger and cable guides,

Fork with uncut steerer is 406 grammes,

Seat-post is now 172 grammes with Ti bolts and cradles suitable for carbon railed saddles,

Finalising the fit of the headset and H11 cockpit has been a bit tricky, as although its a copy its still designed for a 1 1/4" steerer, and the plastic spacers that came with it to convert to 1 1/8" where not up to the job.
I wanted to keep the integrated look of the spacers stem and headset,
So the first job was to bore out the bottom spacer to clear the top bearing race and still let it clamp the compression ring in place and sit flush to the frame.
Next was to machine a new aluminium split spacer to fit the 1 1/4" stem to 1 1/8" steerer, using some carbon paste should give a secure grip when the stem bolts are clamped up. Since it doesn't actually preload the bearings i took the opportunity to machine in some lightening slots so it only weighs 22 grammes.
Also machined the bottom section of the expander bolt assembly to take some weight off, and the use of an aluminium bolt for the pre-load, along with some FSA lightweight bearings mean the whole assembly comes in at 126 grammes.

This looks really interesting. Looking forward to the result. I'm subscribed. I especially like the color and the color matched the post and would go "all in" by using navy blue cages, housing and bartape that Movistar uses.
The headset and stem look pretty sweet. Hopefully it goes together nicely and remains stoudt and silent. are you planning a threaded adapter or staying with pressfit bb?

Thanks for the info.
I know there is a super light version of the R01, but the R02 definitely looks better.
I've seen Ritte bikes in that color, though the design was different.

Jasonh, had originally planned on black bar tape but might try some dark or navy blue. Husings are gonna have to be black as i'm running Sram HydroR brakes, but with a twist as i have gutted the shifter and brake levers of them and reworked some Ultegra Di2 levers to operate them. Its the setup i've run for about a year on my Canyon with no issues.

Planning on just using a standard BB30 bottom bracket, and using a low strength bearing fit Loctite to hopefully keep everything silent.

Sib, yeah i think Dengfu quoted me 1000grammes for the R02 size 52 in naked carbon and 795 grammes for a super light version, but then came back saying it was no longer available, i'm guessing they mixed it up with the super light R01. And yes Ritte was the colour inspiration but a fraction of the cost.

The handlebar / stem combo is,
the base bars /stem without the cover plates 370grammes,
with the cover plates and screws, 382 grammes,
Spacers stack and shims weigh 55 grammes,
these are the standard weights with steel bolts, i don't have weights with the Ti bolts and modified spacers yet.
