Hi I'm new to WW but the site has been helpful for me building this bike.
I've done the best I can to drop the weight from a stock 4.5
The latest weight is 15 lbs and 02 oz.
I want it to be at least below 15 so it's not UCI legal :-)
Ideas anyone?

Hi,

Looks you are more than off to a good start, that is seriously ww for just coming here! I guess a few areas you could look into for quick savings are:

brakes: something like the planetx cnc, I have them and they're awesome
bartape: deda is the lightest nice cork tape I think
bars/stem: if you're looking for a bargain, the williams cycling stuff is pretty good. for more preformance, maybe some ritchey wcs stuff?
cables/ housings: look into alligator/aican/powercords, you can get some real savings there
fork: if I remember correctly, the race lite fork has an aluminum steerer, which is REALLY heavy. maybe the higher end all carbon trek fork? or aftermarket if that ends up being cheaper
tires/tubes: while the gp4000s are pretty nice all arounders, something like a michelin latex or ultralight butyl tube with some lighter tires could save you serious weight.
chainrings: sram red 2012 is heavy, 50g savings from switching the big ring to a stronglight ct2 would not be unreasonable

Hope this helps!

Stefano

Emonda looks great! Does SL take direct mount brakes? Also which bontrager stem is that?
