Hi, totally new to the forum, but I wanted to introduce my project to WW.
It weighed in at 8311g out of the box with dork disc and pedals

But after getting down to just the beautiful frame, I am at a starting point of 1268g for the frame w/bearings and 408g for the fork (uncut).

Man the factory "Pie Plate" on that thing is huge. So stupid they install those from the factory.
Can't wait to see the build progress!

the Americans are god's chosen people if it is about the available colour editions of the caad 10......
Good move by Cannondale to bring back the raw (or highbrite I think it used to be called) option, I have a 9 in that colour and have never wanted to upgrade...but now I'm thinking...
As an aside, I thought part of the reason they stopped that colour option before was that the clear would discolour causing higher than normal warranty claims

I was considering it, yes.
And since it's the weekend and I won't be gettting any packages til Monday I'll post the stock weights:
Rival Shifters: 329g
Rival FD: 87g
Rival RD: 184g
SRAM S500 Crank+Spindle: 731g
SRAM dual Pivot brake calipers: 316g
Fulcrum Racing 7 Front w/ Tire and tube: 1197g
Fulcrum Racing 7 Rear w/ Cassette, tires and tube: 1697g
Skewers: 125g
KMC DC10SC: 258g
C3 Bar: 317g
C3 Seatpost: 277g
C3 Stem: 132g
Prologo Kappa saddle: 298g
bartape: 64g
cables: 176g
bar end plugs: 28g
Steerer spacers: 27g
Head set: 127 g
pedals: 222g
Frame w BB30 bearings, derailleur hanger, bottle cage bolts, and seatpost collar: 1311g
Fork: 408g
In the pic with the frame weighing 1268g it is without the derailleur hanger, collar and bolts, just wanted to see how close it was gonna be to the 1150g claimed weight. And although it is a 58 I think they got it pretty close. Anyone know how much these SRAM BB30 bearings weigh? I am guessing about 50 grams, so at just over 1200g for a 58 aluminum frame is pretty good, no?
Currently we're looking at:
Frame w/bearings, etc: 1311g
fork: 408g
hollowgram: 548g
rival FD: 87g
Antares Braided: 148g
Cables: 176g
KMC DC10SC: 258g
Bartape: 64g
GP4000s: 404g
Vittoria tubes: 183g
Headset: 127g
Speedplay Zero cromo: 222g
Current total 3936g
Still to come:
Shifters
Rear Derailleur
Brakes
Cassette
Bar
Stem
Seatpost
Wheels
Skewers
bottle cages
I am hoping to stay under 6.7kg. Everything is on the way except for the wheels, which are being built I guess.
Any suggestions on some lighter cables?
Very cool! I wonder how much the raw versus the painted saves. I'd have thought around 100 grams.
The CAAD10 4 comes in raw/bare aluminum or the gulf oil team blue/orange, in canada and USA at least and Since I wanted to try and build a light caad10 my first choice was the raw. Needing a 58 was already a strike against weight so it is a bonus to save weight with no paint. Second choice would have been the 1, but as you'll soon see instead of the "murdered out" look, I'm focusing on the alloy. This of course may prove to be too much silver but oh well.
And for those where the 4 isn't available, this was no easy task getting this bike in the Yukon where I live. If you know someone in north America or Australia it would be just as easy as it was for me to get.
