Amazing job!

But you should definitely go for a Robs stem-fork combo but not in black color, try to strip down paint and try polished or chrome finish.. this would be perfect to mach frame and Dura-Ace! 8)
Not exactly pure Weightweenie.... but still crazy enought to hunt every possible gram (used to be, but still like reasonably light bikes :-))

I love it. Cannot wait for the full build pics and ride impressions.

Very, very unique. Noted the weight. Maybe it's a wooden weenie?

@jdp211: here is a picture of the frame with Robs stem/fork combo. The color is definitely wrong, but I am still not sure what color would be right. A polished would probably be cool. Chrome would probably be easier, but I am not sure it the look of chrome will match that of the polished aluminium. I am thinking the shape of Robs fork could also be wrong. I might ask to do a tapered one, but this time I would like someone to do a photoshop image first.

Easton fork really looks out of place on this bike, not much better lookin with Robs fork either. I would go for custom painting whatever fork you want in wooden color matching your frame, like this: viewtopic.php?p=711557#p711557
A light bike does replace good fitness.

I think polished and tapered would really set the frame off

Maybe I should ask Rob if he would be willing to do a tapered fork with some nice wide blades for a discount price

But before I do that, I want to know for sure that a different shape fork will do the trick. Anyone here how does photoshop? :?:

Luckely the rear does look nice IMHO.

First of all, this bike is inspirational. Woodn't (pun intended) worry about the weight one bit when riding something so unique.
The frame just oozes artesanic perfection.

regarding the forks: why can't Renovo make you a nice fork to match?

please don't use that skinny black fork. it really takes away from the visual that the frame provides.

get as wide a blade fork as possible (in steel or carbon, presumably) and get it custom painted with a wood finish to closely match. maybe an alpha q cs10--those seem to have fat blades.

WOWWWWWWWWWW!

I didn't see the pix on the prior page before posting my comment on the steel fork.

That frame looks un-freakin-believable.

Amazing craftsmanship. :beerchug:

The weather finally took a turn for the better today, so I got up early and shot some pictures of the finished bike (finished for now anyway).

I will be taking the bike out on its maiden voyage this afternoon, so I will be posting a review of the bike somewhere in the next couple of days.

Enjoy!

Trying to find a saddle bag for this bike has been pretty tricky. Modern saddle bags simply look silly and a Brooks leather saddle bag looks way too retro.

In the end I went for an Acorn Roll Bag. This American based company makes lovely bags and this one in no exception. It features waxed fabric, leather mounting straps and zippered pockets. It functions and looks great.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I hope to upload some better pics soon.

A black seatpost or shiny stem and handlebar would look better IMO.
