Saying that on this forum is like some form of blasphemy.

The Dogma is the most hyped, overpriced, boat anchor weight bike in existence according to WW.

Long live the horizontal top tube, standard crankset, and Italian threaded bottom bracket.

Thread hasn't been updated in quite a while, started at over 12kg out of the box, and with some component changes shaved it a bit down, now 10.8kg.

Hi, I am totally new to this site and dread the thought of getting sucked into "weight is evil" but it has already started by the fact i have tried to get a reasonably light bike....

I need to know where to save the most weight, i suspect it's wheels but will start a new thread if its a better option. As picked up it weighs 11.33 kg which i thought was light until i started trawling the forum!!!!

It seems i cannot attach an image so will do another post!

Just picked up a new Lapierre Pulsium. I was after an endurance bike. Getting older I wanted something a little softer than my TCR. Still a lot of work to do to lighten things up (they're not that weight weenie...) but I'm aiming to eventually get it down to an acceptable level.

It comes standard with Mavic Aksiums which are very heavy. Replacing them with a set of shamals I have had sent to me by my cashed up brother should make things far better I hope.

The bike proved superbly smooth over rutted, patch on patch bitumen roads that would rattle my teeth out on the TCR. Nowhere near as quick owing to the geometry, but the stunning ride more than makes up for it.

Plus the head tube doesn't look as out of place as that of the Domane with its H2 fit. Pics can be found Instagram #jefftillack since I can't work out how to attach a pic on this iPad!

Although this is not a labeled Lapierre it is one: This is my son's original Batavus HMX carbon team bike I bought brand new as a frameset. The Vacansoleil team rode these bikes in 2010 and had some successes with in that year. It's build with Shimano DA7900/Ultegra6700 and Shimano DA7850/Ambrosio Nemesis or DA7850C50 tubular. The frameset ( Fork / Frame / Headset / Derailleur hanger ) came in at 1335grams - pretty light.

The bike was used the year before as a Lapierre by the Francaise des Jeux team, because it's the same group ( Accell ) that is dealer of Lapierre as well as Batavus.
