Alien Track bike

81g of carbon ring arrived today- great service from fibre lyte in bonny stokesley. Paid for it on Thursday, they made it and shipped it to me by monday morning. not too shabby

Also cleaned up and added some sponsor transfers to my casco, ready for when all these lightweight bits snap and I land on my head!

Off to the track now though, then working away for two days, so pics and weight at the weekend

finally done and tested on the rollers- off to the track in a couple of hours so it'll get a real test then!
weight with drop bars and race wheels is 6.8kg at the moment on my scale, and 6.75kg with training wheels which is MUCH lighter than I expected for such a big bike.
The final build list is as follows
Frame- Alien V3
Fork- Alien V3 Road drilled (for start training at home etc and resale value)
Headset- no name- came with frame- with uberbike component ti bolt
Stem- Thomson X4 with Ti bolt kit
Cranks/BB- Stronglight
Rings- 48 stronglight shown- 49t fibrelyte for race
Sprocket- dura ace 16-13 tooth- 14 to race usually
Bars- Deda alloy pista- may add nitto sprints or alpina in future
Saddle- specialised tri tip- mainly just as it has a cutout so adjustments are easier- may make a cut out in my stripped slr
Chain- izumi V
Wheels- varied but includes 4 spoke or shamal front, borrowed navigator (old corima) rear disc, wolber on dura ace tubs for outdoor tracks, and mongrel indoor clinchers for training
Straps- cheapo leather with custom adapter
Pedals- Speedplay zero chromos

Oh my lord, what is the drop to the bars on that fit?

Never measured it, but I never knowingly ride more than 6 laps at a time so it's fine. Tested that set up on the boards and it was great, finally got a frame that fits me, a 6 foot 4 sprinter, not an average 6 foot tall roadie like most frames seem built for!

33cm alpine bars have arrived, very nice quality and give an amazing position for starts. Not sure I'd use them all the time though
Also they are lighter than deda alloys o might be time for some detuning of bits before nationals!
