Well at least it´s going to be a R3 as soon as the frame is delivered. But I´ll start with what I have so far:

Wheels:
Image
Easton EC90 Aero (weight 1360g for the par, on my kitchen scale + 120g for the skewers)

Gruppo:
Image
Campy Chorus 11s

I´ve ordered a 58cm Cervelo R3 frame. As for the other parts I´m thinking:

Selle Italia Flite team ed.
Look KéO 2 Max
3T Rotundo Pro bar
3T Arx team stem
Continental Competition tubulars

It is not even close to being a cheap build but by ordering from various shops in the UK and Germany it´s at least going to be a lot cheaper than buying it here. My goal is under 6800g (15lbs), do you think it´s possible with these parts? Specially the bar isn't superlight but the Rotundo team bar is like 100£ more for 60g, worth it?

Should be looking good when it`s finished.
I think you will end up at 6,9kg - 7,0kg. Just my guess...

Good call but I'm not convinced it will be enough to get the build under 15lbs...

I think you'll be right around 15 pounds. I had an older R3 (58) with Record and some type of alloy clinchers that were probably about 1600 grams and mine was about 15.6 pounds IIRC. You've got lighter wheels and saddle and I suspect Chorus 11 isn't much heavier than Record 10 square taper.

Since I haven´t bought any of the other components I will wait for the frame and check the weight and then decide if i can get close to 6,8 without spending too much. Its just an added bonus if thats possible, the ride and the looks are more important (do I get thrown of the forum now?)

Thanks for the replies!

Getting it to down to 6.8 will be tight even with the Easton EC90s. I'm on a R3SL with full SR 11 and Neutrons (1600-ish gms compared to your 1360 gm wheels) and I'm sitting just above 7.0kg. You should be able to get it below the 7.0 mark with some light tubs but will need to do a bit further tuning to get it to 6.8.

Nice build. Has many of the same parts that I have for my bike. I bet you are going to be sitting at around 7.0-7.1kg for the weight.

So finally got the frame:
Image
Frame weight is measured with headset, seatpost clamp and bottle cage bolts installed. 976g in size 58 is Ok, right?

Image
The fork is uncut and with the lower ring for the headset, but still... 404g? How much weight is lost when cutting, 10g?

For what it's worth, my Addict steerer was 3g per cm. I lost 36g when I cut 12cm.

Looking forward to a built-up picture!

That's going to be a sweet build, regardless of whether it breaks the 7kg barrier. Beautiful frame, great components. Color me envious!

That is a great weight for the frame.

Fork a little heavier than I would have expected...?

More pic's of the frame!!!

Would you mind posting some more pictures of the frameset, I'm considering one myself, and the colors really look gorgeous!
