Some stern words from my wife about this being sat stripped and unused has resulted in a rebuild:

Bog standard DA 9070 throughout this time - not even bling brakes. Looks better for it too I reckon, and stops me arsing around deciding which cranks to use...

I guess those 'stern words' had nothing to do with reducing expenditures on bikes!

Looks great.

The DA 9000 suits that bike.

You might just be right on that - and to think I used to *hate* the look of those DA9000 cranks...!

I know I'm late to the party but seriously, something better than a carbon Dura Ace crank? I'm not saying it is the best but it damn sure is the rarest modern crank I have ever seen. You don't get much more bling than that.

Ha! A few months late bikericer ;)

I agree, and at the time I loved them. They nearly went back on too, but actually I think the 9000s freshen the bike up a lot, and I like that. Plus it's no fuss this way!

Been a while...

Wheels are on test for a review - they're Wheelworks Rail 52 clinchers with an Alchemy front hub, and a WI T11 rear. Tyres are Grand Bois Blue Cerf 26c.

Did you get the creaking issue sorted or is that a question for PM?

Seems to be sorted - verdict was that it could have been a grain of something between the ISP and the strengthening sleeve that was put in when the frame cracked. I'm just hoping bad luck doesn't come in 3's...

Wasnt aware it had cracked. Did this happen at the top of the ISP or elsewhere?
