Some stern words from my wife about this being sat stripped and unused has resulted in a rebuild:
Bog standard DA 9070 throughout this time - not even bling brakes. Looks better for it too I reckon, and stops me arsing around deciding which cranks to use...

I agree, and at the time I loved them. They nearly went back on too, but actually I think the 9000s freshen the bike up a lot, and I like that. Plus it's no fuss this way!

Been a while...
Wheels are on test for a review - they're Wheelworks Rail 52 clinchers with an Alchemy front hub, and a WI T11 rear. Tyres are Grand Bois Blue Cerf 26c.

Seems to be sorted - verdict was that it could have been a grain of something between the ISP and the strengthening sleeve that was put in when the frame cracked. I'm just hoping bad luck doesn't come in 3's...
