Canyon Ultimate CF pro, another stormtrooper!

Hi folks,
My second bike build: took me 2 years of thinkwork, 1 year of gathering all the components, 8 hours of building (installing nokon for the first time is a real bitch! ) and a lot of euro's. I wanted kind of a WW bike, but not spending too much money on it. So I bought the frame in the canyon outlet (1069 euro), the wheels (750), handelbars (130), seatpost (70), a complete red group (700) and ) 0G-brakes (170) on ebay. All of it second hand, but in a new state. Very pleased withe the result! (check all those red details...)

It's raining in the netherlands, so I wouldn't know... (only taking her out in dry conditions for a first testride) I'll report later on the first impressions.

That's sarcasm right?
Great build and some fantastic deals you've found. I can never find Corima's at a decent price.

Then he will probably have to get the stem painted.
The Canyon One One Four SL and One One Four SLX forks needs an oversise 1 1/4" stem, hence the names.
I think Syntace F119 is the only aftermarket stem that will fit a 1 1/4" fork.
FSA and Ritchey has also delivered black OEM 1 1/4" stems for Canyon.

If 31.8 mm ...
is being used for the handlebar clamping diameter then the rest of the stem should be made as stiff and strong. A thicker stem tube is used, this 31.8mm diameter is kept throughout the stem to the clamp area. We then leave the steerer tube clamp diameter 31.8 and use a alu bushing to bring it down to 28.6.
Additional benefit: Without reduction shim the Force 119 fit's on every 1 1/4" fork.
Maybe you should let The Stig from TopGear test ride it: http://www.topgear.com/uk/stig

Let us know how it rides as soon as the sun shines in the Netherlands
Took the stormtroopah for a first spin today and it was HORRIBLE............
to see her get all dirty!
But the ride was FANTASTIC! I never thought I could feel a real difference between bikes, but this is unbelievable, a bigger improvement than my switch from steel to carbon (I never rode a alu bike). Now I know what lateral stiff, yet vertical compliant means... Every push on the pedals is right on spot, accelerating through corners is sharp like a knife through butter. Even on cobblestones it filters out the small bumps so you really can keep on putting force on the pedals. Overall the handling is superb, very agile but still not nervous! Holy crap what a bike!
