Another (and very exciting) Rob English project in the pipeline...

I think Rob is starting work on the frame imminently. It'll be featuring his usual custom butted/ovalised seattube, custom butted headtube, True Temper S3 downtube, toptube and chainstays, and the signature slender wishbone seatstays. The design and geometry looks great - really looking forward to riding it in anger.

Component spec as follows:

Rob is going to build some fairly fancy training wheels as follows:

Rear hub: Alchemy ORC 28h
Front hub: Alchemy ELF 24h

Q/Rs KCNC Ti Road
Cassette: SRAM Red
Tires: Schwable Ultremo R.1
Tubes: Schwable

I've not yet decided what extra fancy wheels I might use on the bike. I rather like Madfiber, and obviously Lightweight too, but with a baby on the way and a house that needs lots of work I think I'm going to have to be quite careful with my cash! I may end up with some carbon rims on Tune hubs from Strada Wheels (http://www.stradawheels.co.uk). The alternative is to have Rob build up some Enve rims on Alchemy hubs - I will have to see whether the taxman decides to sting me for loads of import duty...

I also consider rob english frame for my wife.... How much does your frame weigh?

We've got a baby due soon - I wonder if I can swap it for a TT frame?

my frame came up to 1160g for an ISP design.

I think the weight is incredible for steel frame, that's alot lighter than dogma!

Sorry, mis-typed in my last post (corrected now) The weight for my frame is actually 1160g - still v light for steel though!

Pretty big. We opted for a low(ish) BB and longer chainstays in the end too...

Beautiful bike and build. I love Rob's work and the simple black.

Question though? I'm not the spacer police, and don't know if that is your final position, but I always wonder about a 2cm stack of spacers on a custom build. seems like if it were me, I'd run a longer head tube.
