I have been reading the forums for a while but haven't posted anything yet. Not sure if anyone here has heard of Octto before - it's a small company based in Toronto, Canada. I just like to ride something different than all the Giant, Specialized, Trek etc. everybody has. Anyways I recently built up one of the Octto Series Reference framesets, so I submit my bike for internet approval. I haven't got a chance to ride it yet as it's far too wintery here. :x
The black is not painted, it is a clearcoated uni-directional carbon finish.

The build:
Octto Series Reference frame (XS size - 1012g) fork (335g) and Octto Attempt seatpost (194g)
Shimano Dura-Ace 7800 gruppo, except cassette is Ultegra
KMC X10-SL chain
3T Ergonova Pro/ARX Pro handlebar/stem & Octto Pro Gel tape
Specialized Toupe Ti saddle
Planet X CNC brakes
White Industries H2/H3 hubs laced to Kinlin XR-200 rims 20f/24r (1354g)
or Reynolds Assault (1500g)
J&L Ti skewers (53g)
Vittoria Open Corsa tires with Michelin latex tubes.

With the Kinlin/WI wheels it is 6.8kg or with Reynolds 6.95kg, I think not too bad for clincher wheels and an 'outdated' gruppo.

Very cool bike. A friend of mine had the same bike as his team bike. It's a good thing you're a smaller dude because he said that guys with size 44 or larger feet were having problems heeling the chainstays.

Are the frames fabricated in Canada or imported from elsewhere? What are your impressions with regard to fit/finish/performance, etc? How was the customer service?

It's a FM-01 frame imported from China with their decals on it.

It is not the Yishun FM-01.

They are manufactured in Taiwan. As far as I know, the owner of the company has a loft there, and previously did product design work for Cervelo and FSA. I haven't got a chance to ride it yet to evaluate the performance however the Jet Fuel Coffee team races the bikes. The frame has a nice finish and cool details like the lugged seat tube junction. I posted some frame detail photos on my blog here. Customer service was second to none. I dealt directly with the distributor and he took care of everything and personally delivered the frame to the LBS rather than sending it UPS/Fedex...

I was just going off their site, you're right, clearly not the yinshun fm-01. Though, FM-01 does imply that it is a generic mold that is being used, not that there's anything wrong with that! Friends with a couple of the Jet Fuel guys and others that are on the bike and they have no complaints, other than one person who received their frame and the rear wheel didn't sit straight. Octto quickly got him a new one though!

Thanks :)
And yes the D-A crank is a bit garish but I'm glad someone thinks it looks good with the bike
