Hey forum goers, I am new to your forum, though I have flicked over to WW many times in the past. I have been cycling for just under 30 years now and still love it. My daily commuters are an On-One Il Pompino, or my Boardman comp depends how I feel  for my other duties I have a Guerciotti Alero, which I brought after trading up from my Kinesis Racelight KiC2. I hope to be able to give some input to various discussions :D as well as take something away from them

Catch you later 8)

:D hey thanks for the warm welcome, pity the other forum users are too busy to stop by

I will post up some pics of my rides when I have cleared work and am into the weekend. To be honest I would love to be able to spend loads of cash on trick bits on my Guerciotti and strip it down to a sensible minimum weight, but my problem is I am 95kgs and I don't want to put anything in jeopardy  :?

I can't ever think of a time when fat bloke & light bike were in the same sentence

Break at the office. Another Welcome! As Pete said please do post pictures of your current bikes. Any upgrades in mind for any of them?

Hey Juan  will post pics as soon as poss.

The only immediate upgrades I am thinking of are new cableset & saddle for the Guerciotti. I just can't make out from the corporate literature exactly what components I need to run Goodridge cables and outers for my gear & brake set up , I have standard Campag 10 speed cables atm, and from reading reviews Goodridge sound the best alternative :?

As regards the saddle I am tempted to go Fizik, but I don't like to go with the flow normally I like to do my own thing, but saying that saddles are all generally well covered :( I have always fancied a San Marco Regal - yeah hardley light I know, I have a 'Rolls' on my commuter and it is the comfiest saddle ever :)

If you have any suggestions :smartass: let me know please

many TIA

Evening Forum people ... I have got a question .... I am having trouble with my Guerciotti Alero, the seat tube is 29.4mm and although I have shimmed it down to 27.2mm I just can't get the 'right' look. I have a Controltech team issue 2A seatpost atm, which is more easy on the eye, than my new carbon one which just looks wrong.

Do any forummers know of a 29.4mm seatpost with 25mm lay back :?:

That's a problem some Pegoretti's share.....

Thomson layback ....but let's be honest.... friends don't let friends ride thomson laybacks (ugly) :)

WR Composti makes a nice carbon 29.4 but hard to get hold of......specially in America, you might be able to track one down in good old blighty though.

That's all I got

Deda Magic Stick would look good on your frame. Might be hard to get hold of, though...

Thanks for your input. WR wasn't a company I had considered, but tbh the seatpost looks good ....

http://www.wrcompositi.it/catalogo.php?prodotto=40

I will contact the importers today to see what they say

This is where I am with my Guerciotti build ........

I would like to upgrade to a matching 12k full carbon fork (I will source some 'Guerciotti' decals for the forks later), I want to change the bars, stem & seatpost (as previously mentioned).

I have been looking at the Deda super zero seat post this morning :?

Looks great! (But then, I'm biased  )
Deda Superzero doesn't come in 29.4 AFAIK.
If you go for Deda, consider the Black Fin fork. Full carbon, reasonably light and very stiff.

 thanks, your whisper looks awesome 8)

Yeah regards the seatpost I would have to have the 27.2mm shim in  I need to colour it in with something, it sticks out like a sore thumb at the moment

I'll do some research on the black fin - thanks for the heads up

Thanks, yeah, i love my Whisper :D

Regarding the shim: if I were you I'd try to find a plastic one. They come in black and there's less chance that you scratch your fine Superzero seatpost.

Looking forward to see your completed Alero!

Edit: what year is your Alero? I see that the 2010 model already comes with a Deda Black Fin...
