No ideas on what killed it??
No idea at all. It worked for 1 ride then it started giving power numbers that put me in a 'can't be beaten on any course' category.

That sucks about the Quarq. Are you sure its not a calibration error or something? I had some weird readings if I didn't manually zero it before rides and when I was using the old 2.4 firmware on my Edge 500.
@ trustnoone - They seem to be pretty good - very well made. The front skewer length seems a bit short but otherwise I like em.
@ KWalker - nah both the Edge 500 and 800 giving me -31441W on calibration. Website says anything around the 32000 mark and the strain guages are kaput. So looks like it just died. Shame I sold my powertap so fast it means I have no power for at least 2 weeks I might need to go out and beg borrow or steal......

With the Quarq off the bike and the arrival of the KCNC expander and Woodman seat collar the magical 6.8Kg has been defeated!

Probably the wrong phrase. I switch between my EPS and my CAAD9 frequently and the ride can be best described as firmer than the EPS.

Got my Quarq crankset back just before I went to the US in late March.
I thought I would add a quick update as the last post I put up was a bit of a negative for Quarq.
They sent me a brand new crank - no questions - and it has been flawless ever since.
Total weight of the bike is 6.895Kg with the Quarq so still under the 7Kg barrier but no longer under the magic 6.8
I know I could get it down but the whole point of the project was to build a race bike as good as possible on a budget. Besides it's a CAAD 9 and whilst it is one hell of a good bike I'd really struggle to justify throwing a lot more money at it for the sake of a few grams
Ultimately the Quarq blew the budget but now I can ride any wheelset I own and have power so I'm pretty happy with the outcome and as long as I stick with BB30 the crankset will follow.

I wouldn't fret so much about that 'magical' 6.8 kg barrier, if I were you. Seems like a very usable and practical bike you have there. And you take it to nice places too!

I've got their Elite bibs and jersey and have to say the stitching on the bibs is average - only single stitch and the lyrca tends to tear at the tops of the zig zag stitch.
That said, the chamois is very comfortable and I do like how snug the legs fit. Jersey is also quite good.

Mine is the Equipe kit. I also have the Speed Matrix bibs - not as comfortable over longer distances as the chamois is quite light and thin in comparison (But supposed to be superior according to LG).
The Equipe bibs are sensational. Extremely tight fitting compression garment but incredibly comfortable once you've squeezed yourself into them.
No problems with the stitching for me - I also own a blue set. Previously I destroyed a blue set in a racing crash so I've have a reasonably good length of time to get to know them. I will add one caveat though - I own probably 10 sets of quality gear so I rotate a lot this could mean that the material/stitch quality isn't as good as I think it is - only time will tell. For the moment they are my new favourite bibs.
