It wasn't wet so managed to leave top/bottom decals, just in case I forget what stem I'm riding :)

Do you think it would be save to strip the Ritchey stem to bare alu and do a little polishing or would that do structural damage? What do you use to stipt the paint off?
And if I ever meet an aardvark, I'm going to step on its damn protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it.

Yup, that's what I mean. I'm looking for a bare alu or a polished alu 1 1/4" stem so I wonder if the anodized finish can be removed without doing structural damage to the stem.

havent tried removing anodization.
you can try paintstripping one of those specialized stems with sleeves that comes in white, its not anodized under the paint unlike ritchey.

that slimy liquid on the stem is solvent based paint stripper.

finished the build. 6.22kg as pictured. didnt really go for lightness but rather a solid, all-around rig. of course some components from the previous iteration and some newly acquired ones are kept in the corner ready for use, but this setup will be what ill be riding most of the time.
