LITESPEED Vortex 2002 - New picture 12/10
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi guys
I've been reading alot in here so i thought it's time to say hello and present my own bike.
Litespeed Vortex from 2002. It was ridden by Rik Verbrugghe of Lotto-Adecco and should have won 7th stage of Giro D'Italia 2002. As it's a team model the shape of the tubes are 2003'ish
Pictures of Rik and the bike back then:
My current setup:
Frame: Litespeed Vortex 2002 58cm
Deraileurs: Campagnolo Record Carbon 10spd
Shifters: Campagnolo Record Carbon 10spd
Brakes: Campagnolo Record
Crankset: Campagnolo Record 10spd Ultra Torque w. Record cups
Pedals: Look Kéo 2 Max Carbon
Handlebars: Easton EC90 44cm
Stem: Tune Geiles Teil 110mm
Headset: Cane Creek (Litespeed stock)
Fork: Easton EC90 SLX
Seatpost: Thomson Masterpiece w. setback
Seatpost clamp: Hope (will switch to a black Hope instead)
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR (old style)
Bottle cages: Tune w. Tune bottles
Cables: Campagnolo Record
Chain: Campagnolo Record
Casette: Campagnolo Record 12-25
Wheels: Zipp 404
Weight is 17.5 lbs.
To do:
Cut fork steerer
Change seatpost clamp
Maybe buy Litespeed decals or remove Zipp 404 decals - cant decide.
It's not an insane weenie project but i love the bike - it is a reliable and comfortable ride. The idea of the build was to make a beautiful bike with a mix of the modern and older parts.
Any suggestions for putting down weight (without buying Lightweight wheels) - let me know
Kind regards
CW

A pic of mine with decals, it is a 2004 Litespeed Vortex , with a different downtube shape
What tyres are you running (if indeed you ARE running any tires)?
Back on track!
Bought new wheelset - Tune Mig/Mag on black Open Pro. For training usage.
Also changed seat clamp and chainrings (Stronglight CT2) - so gone for complete stealth mode.
Weight is currently 16.5 lbs. I'm quite satisfied as it's a big boy ti frame with some heavy components. My next goal is to change the brakes to kcnc c7 and maybe go for 3T carbon components for cockpit. Also wanna change the old SLR saddle as it's on the heavy side.
Hope you like it
