Hi everyone,

been lurking around for a while and finally registered as a member of WW yesterday.

here is my new frame, handlebar and saddle with other components from my previous bike (pedals, SR11 and bora)

Not really a WW....but i happy with the weight as i shaved off about 700gms from the previous bike.

complete bike is now at 6.6kg (everything included)

(i can probably shave another 30 gms off from the stem. any good recommendations? Deda newton 31 is not exactly light...but the colour fits the bike)

thanks everyone.

climb hard...ride safe!

Welcome, fellow 586 owner! You'll thoroughly enjoy that frameset.
Bike is looking good. I prefer the black hoods over the red ones, but I'm not one for coloured hoods in the first place.
As for a stem, how about a Rotor or Extralite OC?

I have the black hoods as well. Just want to try out a different look for now :)

Thks everyone.

Pfc - nah. This is off the shelf frameset. Col is matte black from the 2011/12 catalogue.
Was choosing between this and the white/red combo but I guess I swing more towards the darker side

Guys....I've the option to change to a lighter stem. The bike shop offered me a deda zero100 servizio.

Is it worth the change? (difference is about 30-40gms)

Anyone here used both before?

Newton is a fine stem and matches your frame perfectly. Keep it as it is.

The Zero100 Servizio Corse is a nice stem. You won't notice any difference in stiffness from the Newton31. The swap will only gain you about -10 grams as per Deda's website, but if the shop is doing it for free, why not. Also all Zero100 Servizio Corse stems have a little bit of blue on the graphics (except the all white one) so it won't match as nicely as the Newton31.

Nice!

Nice to see a 586 on WWs. You've busted a nut on the BU2s and SR which complements the high end frame nicely. Bit too much colour matching going on for my liking but well done overall. Surprised it's not lighter. Ride report please!

yeah....i was a little surprised with the weight myself but i kinda expected it to be around the region as i have not started being a true WW by changing the crank / bolts etc to lighter materials as i am pretty happy with the set up now. (my previous bike was a 7.3kg bike so the initial feeling of having about 800gms shaved off has been great so far).

It's been raining heavily here (singapore) for the past week and i've yet to bring her out for a spin. My legs are really itching for a good climbing session to see how it fares against my old bike.
My old bike is a blue AC1.

Hoping that the 586 will be a improvement in ride quality over the AC1. will give some updates once the weather improves.

(was about to leave my house this morning at 5am for some climbing......feeling so excited that i can finally give the 586 a go but it rained so heavily and i sighed.....Zzzzzzzz)
