Teaser weigh-in. Still need a haircut for the steerer (& ditch the pointless spacers). Also the shifting was not so great with the iLinks rear loop so I swapped it for some heavy housing. But this is an indication of the the final weight which will certainly be lower:
Shown with tubular wheel setup. Clincher setup is about 100g more:

More to come.

Not enough time, but I finally got around to taking some daylight photos of the detail build here:

Let me know what you think. It's still "in-progress" at this point.

That's incredible about the Veloflex.

Wonder what the resident tubbie (and Veloflex) fan fdegrove would say.

Yes, I was so mad about the previous 6 failures and reading about people that still liked them (!) So I bought one (just one! to get context). It was dated Dec 2010 (even older than the ones I bought 2 years ago). It's doing better than all the others combined so far.

I've tried to communicate with Veloflex about the Extremes - but in summer, it's like trying to pull chorizo out of the hands of a 'lantern rouge' finisher during the Giro or Le Tour.

Better to wait?

Here's the one that finally worked:
