Here's my 26" Calfee bamboo hardtail with Shimano XTR, Enve wheels and cockpit. I wouldn't call it WW, because the frame itself weighs 6lbs (2.72kg). The entire bike comes in at 24.1lbs (10.93 kg) which I think is pretty respectable considering the frame weight. I still need to get bar grips (Ergon BioKork) and possibly make some other adjustments. I haven't had a chance to ride it off road yet, but the ride quality is lively and not "wooden" like I had expected

I'll follow up with more closeups and a detailed ride report when I have the time.

Easily the best looking XC bike i've ever seen. Actually the only good looking one...

What kind of cage is that? Carrying the wooden theme?

Do you shop at Red Lantern? If so I saw your bike there, or one that looked exactly the same.

I love it. I used to have a tetra pro road bike and loved it as well.

Thanks for all your comments! Unfortunately I haven't had much time to ride it as I've been traveling on business. I did manage to take it out for a short ride on some firetrails and singletrack and was impressed by how well the bike handles, especially compared to my previous ride (a full suspension Santa Cruz superlight).

Dman: That is a rosewood-laminated carbon fiber bottlecage. It can be found on Calfee's website at http://calfee.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/rosewood-waterbottle-cage.

phallenthoul: The bamboo tubes are joined together by epoxy soaked hemp fiber. In its earlier designs, Calfee used to join them together using carbon fiber, but these turned out not to be very durable.

endo: Yes, I ordered the frame through Matt at Red Lantern and he also did the build. Matt also did the builds for several of my other bikes, a Crumpton SL and a Pegoretti Duende.

crazydachshund: No, it might look like there is a chain catcher on there, but there isn't. The front derailleur is an XTR "Down Swing" derailleur which is less common than the standard XTR derailleur and probably looks like a chain catcher in the photo.
