Do you guys have any tips for removing the stupid caution decal off a CAAD9? It's not a sticker put seems to be printed onto the frame. Thanks.

Remove the painting and anodize the frame!!

It will eliminate the caution decal and shave a few grams

Is her CAAD8 just raw aluminum? I've been wanting to get rid of decals on mine but I heard that if you just sand part of the clearcoat it will look bad, so you will have to sand it all off. So I've just kept my decals on. :/ Although I do like the anodize idea

@greenmachine, that KOM bike is friggin' epic. I begged my rep (yeah you hear me don't you?) to push to have them make a limited run of them. Say... 21, one for each stage of the Tour. Sell it with a jersey signed by Pellizotti. But... no dice. Maybe they can make a pink one this year  . So help me if Pellizotti or Basso wins the Giro or the Tour and they don't do a special bike, I'll be upset.

Dmirrer,

That is the one bike I really wanted to have when I was 16/17 ish. Thanks for sharing, that made my day!

It seems quite original still.
First gen crossmax
Irc tires
esp 9.0 rear der and ?shifters?
Sachs? front mech
coda magic (motorcycle) cranks
avid brakes.

Real super sweet bike.

Thanks Frankie!
This bike is far from original ;-)
But the parts itself are original yes :-) The pic shows IRC Notos tires. I recently replaced it for the original IRC Mythos XC K redwall tires. You got it right about the RD and the shifters. Front mech is a Deore LX from 98. I will replace the RD by XTR 950 and the shifters by Sachs Powergrip Wavey's. The handlebar is already replaced by an Azonic DW riserbar with Onza Ules red grips :-)

Here's my 'Dale, 2005 Optimo pre-season (raw) colour with XTR shifting and braking, XTR/DT 4.2 wheels, FSA Omega carbon compact crank. I love this bike. And yes, the pix are awful.

Those Coda Magic cranks are awesome, I had them on my road bikes before BB30 came out, they were light years ahead of anything else! Sold all mine, but I'd like to get another set and build something modern with those babies 8)
