Take the 11 off a Shimano 11 speed cassette, put a 1mm spacer behind the last cog, tighten up and you're running 10 cogs at 11 speed spacing. I've done the same w/ my C-35 7900, works fine if you don't mind missing the 11.

no need to quote above

did you do that without modification of the hub itself ?

I used a dremel to get a little material of the hub itself. So the cassette won't get stuck against it.

This is interesting as I would like to pick up a set of Dura Ace C24 tubulars. My question, Did you or do you have to unlace the wheel to perform the majic as you have. Thanks

Introducing my bike.

Image

Its a 2013 x2. Ditched the sram and poor avid brakes for a full xt set up.

Also changed the connect 90mm stem for a contact 70mm (pesky od2)

Other changes include a crank bros 680mm bar, superstar components flats (there will be a fair bit of hike a bike ) and some orange bits to brighten things up.

Bike is firstly being used for a 170 mile off road charity ride from milngavie to inverness on the west highland way then the great glen way then I plan to use it mainly for local trail centre type riding (have bigger travel for fun stuff)

Initial brief was light ish but still comfortable and something that will last/endure scottish riding but post challenge I will look to reduce weight. Seat post and wheels being first targets but open to suggestion.
