I prefer the plain stem on the C40 as well.

I have a chance at picking up a Colnago signature SLX with full 10 speed chorus at $1250----the paint and mechanicals look good. It's an early 90's frame but looks very nice. Does this sound ok?

I sold my Master which was probably less than 5 years old with a Chorus/Centaur mix, pedals and new tires for $1,500 so that sounds expensive for an older frame.

Very clean build! So what if it's not Campy. What ever works for you is what's important.

you know it's not politically, diplomatically or politely correct to say that :smartass:

... but is indeed 100% historically , technically and aesthetically correct

Except that Mapei always decked their Colnago's with Shimano; and some of the other sponsors as I remember. Plus, it looks absolutely fine with SRAM.

mapei decked them with shimano for sponsor reasons and not because they liked the look or performance over campy, and i agree it looks fine with sram, but still...

Don't tell the board, tell Ernesto.

Sounds sad, but I think Strada SL has better paint schemes than C59.

Is the Strada SL available as frameset only?
