I'm very pleased with the weight considering I went to some heavier parts last year for either availability, durability or better functionality. I'm still very pleased with the changes.

The parts I changed:

Clavicula cranks with rings (542 grams) to Campy Ultra cranks (702 grams)

M2 Racer pedals (99 grams) to Time Ulteam Carbon Titanium pedals (182 grams)

Easton SLX fork (283 grams to a Alpha Q GS30 (302 grams with the insert glued)

Looks great Juan. How does it ride compared with your Vortex?

Oh my gosh, that thing looks so unbelievably sweet! Congrats!

Juan - Great looking bike. From a personal perspective would only change the saddle. The rest of it is spot on. Well done.

With the temps right now at 12 degrees I only did a 60 minute roller ride. I might be able to get out by next weekend but we are expecting more snow yet this week.


Its the only saddle that works for me with all day comfort. Sometimes function wins out over fashion. It doesn't hurt hat it works and its 71.5 grams either!

Why did you change the Clavicula's?

I just finished my build and had to go out in 18 Deg F come hell or high water. I will tell you how my bike handles when I get the feeling back

Sweet ride, I like the touch of gold. Perhaps a short section of gold Nokons at the rear derailuar as well. Was this custom or house blend? Were did you have the fitting done and did they meet your expectations?

I went to 175 from 172.5mm and the Clavicula's were 175 and I just never liked the 175's plus I wanted something with a narrower q-angle and 172.5mm.



It is a Houseblend since the numbers are right. I will be having a fitting for the finishing touches on the build. Kevin Wilson from Wilson Bicycle Consultants will be doing the fitting.

There will be a thread on the fitting session since Kevin will be doing the fitting session at my house.

I can't say I found the fork lacking when I rode the SLX. A friend challenged me to try the Alpha Q GS-30 and made the offer that I wouldn't have to pay him for the fork unless I really liked it. He was convinced that I would. After I mounted the Alpha Q on my bike if found it to be stiffer and more precise when cornering and that with it my bike just tracked much better in rough sections of pavement. The Alpha Q is slightly heavier but I guess that extra carbon is in the right places and really adds to the performance of the fork. I paid him for the fork.

It's probably a good thing anyway since Lynskey's are designed to work with an Alpha Q forks so I saved a few pennies since I didn't need the fork.

I gotta say this ia a really nice bike, the choice of componants you like is good rather than "crowd pleasers" that you may not get on with. And i like the understated look, i have a Vortex too and wonder how the Lynskey compaires
