Out of curiosity are Pinarello going with the large 12k weave on their track frames now with exception of the Montello.

The Madison frame like mine is 12k weave and the Sprint version will have 3k weave and weigh 150 grams more(1200 grams Madison/1350 grams Sprint).

Shows my naivety, I always assumed that the 12k was purely for economics and I'm shocked that the 12k would be lighter than the 3k but then again Scott's are lighter than most things.

The 12k is just the cosmetic top layer.

3k weave should normally be the beter choice.

The difference in weight is caused bij the different build that is used for these two type of frames.

I do not like the 12K to bold IMHO ... I like the bike though!
My bike is Italian so it is Nervosa and of course has Anorexia I like them thin!
