Winter in Poland is too snowy for much road riding. This is my first winter here, but I am told that they keep riding mountain bikes all winter. Last weekend I only saw one other bike on the trails but I saw 3 dogsled teams.

My 15 year old Serotta still works great with a few recent upgrades. The snow adds a few grams.

The main roads were clear enough last weekend to get out on the Litespeed tandem. With fenders it makes for a good winter trainer. Just needs a wash after the ride.

A few updates to the CX9 this year, Ultegra 6700 levers and rear mech, Hollogram SL crank arms, trusty old Arione saddle and stuck some Knogs on today and am quite chuffed in the way in which the front one mounted.

I actually miss having a winter bike and getting cold and dirty!

Sold my pimped up specialized tricross before moving to the 'sand-pit', still regret it now.

Here's mine in all of its non-WW, old school magnificence! I always try to convince myself that the weight is a great training aid, but the truth is I ride much more for enjoyment these days and I would always rather take something lighter and more sprightly out of the shed, unless it is completely bucketing down with rain.

Despite the 1 inch quill and non-oversize bars, the front end is surprisingly stiff, as is the bb. For all of the latest design innovations, maybe a lot of what we see now is compensating for basic material characteristics differences between carbon fibre and steel?

Calnago that's quite a winter rig. I love that colour scheme, along with PR99 it's probably one of my favourites from Colnago. Please post more pics of that beauty :D
