Hey, I have been on this forum for a little while now but I just switched usernames, so I thought I would introduce myself.

I am 16 years old and I live in San Mateo, California. I have been riding and racing road bikes since I was 12 starting with a 26 pound specialized. I have raced cross country for middle school in grades 6-8, and now at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco grades 9-11. I won every race in every race in the 8th grade XC season and was first for my team freshman year in every race, and won a league race, but have had a slow comeback to running injuries the last two years. I love climbing and I ride out along canada road.

Here's the bike: WEIGHT=15.75lbs

Frame: 2006 Giant Tcr Adavnced T mobile team
Fork: 2006 Giant advanced composite
Wheels: Reynolds alta aero comp
Headset: fsa
Stem: Reynolds al race
Handlebars: Easton EC70 wing
Crankarms: Campagnolo chorus carbon compact
Chainrings: Campagnolo chorus 50-34
Bottom bracket: Campagnolo chorus
Pedals: Shimano Dura Ace
Front derraileur: Campagnolo chorus compact
Rear derraileur: Campagnolo chorus short cage
Brake levers: Campagnolo chorus
Brake calipers: M5
Cassete: Campagnolo chorus
Chain: Campagnolo chorus ultra narrow
Saddle: Specialized toupe
Seatpost: Giant advanced composites
Tires: Gommitalia
Tubes: Kenda
Handlebar tape: Fizik Microtex bar tape
Bottle cages: Giant carbon
Cables: Campagnolo
Cable housing: Campagnolo

I am looking to upgrade it so please help with any suggestions, Thanks!

The bike is also autographed by Michael Rogers on the down tube and it has an amazing ride. The thing climbs effortlessly, and I can really notice how it keeps your legs fresher longer.

These Giants are really growing on me. I really like the look of it. The Chorus parts fit as do the wheels and stem :no1: A word of advice for you now (because I am old, and can patronise! ) Just get out there and ride it. Don't change parts and waste your money. Spend it going to different places to ride there. It will keep you motivated a lot better.

I love this bike, and I know what it feels like to kind of lose motivation, but no matter what, just looking at the bike is garunteed to get me out on the road. I absolutely love the new brakes and the stopping power is excellent, much better than campy.

Also, future upgrades in mind, wheels + bar and stem.

For wheels I am thinking that a deep wheelset would not benefit me enough and I am only 140lbs so a low profile one is best for what I do. I am thinking the best two options are lightweight ventoux and speed composites sinus.

For bar and stem I really don't know, I like the flat top of the bar I have a lot, but the whole cokpit of bar and stem feel very flexy and I don't think it is the head tube. How is the zipp sl bar?

Howabout deda stem and shallow newton bars? as far as wheels, if you get ventoux get the gen 2's

Would the deda bar stem set up be stiffer than what I have, because my current one is like a noodle? What is a super stiff but still light set up?
