Has anyone seen/heard any news on the 2017 range from Cervelo? I spoke with the lbs today and they are going to a dealer convention early September. Only news they could give was an upgrade to the Dura-Ace 9100/9170 and delivery would be dictated by the release of the new group set.

Curious about this myself I called Cervelo a moment ago and asked someone at the office. The official answer is that they cannot discuss unreleased information however they are taking a departure from the norm of September releases and announcing models as they become available. Perhaps I am taking this out of context but the individual did say that there are some new models scheduled to coincide with the new DA groupset.
Maybe we will see some aero disc models??

My 2015 R3 51cm:
As pictured, it is 7.37kg (Stock Ultegra build + Ultegra pedals + 2x Arundel Mandible cages + Enve 3.4 / King clincher wheelset).
With the above accessories plus stock Fulcrum 5.5 wheelset (23mm tires, 11-25 Ultegra cassette) it was 7.74kg.
I also test rode it with a set of Bontrager Aeolus 5s (25mm tires, 11-28 105 cassette) at 7.48kg (16lb 8oz - pictured below).
Cheers,
Mark

Somebody is willing to share his riding experiences on the Cervélo S5?
I'm currently on a S Works Venge 2015 Sagan edition.
Considering an S5 for it's Aero looks, will use is for everday riding, Climbing, cobbles, ... by changing the wheels.
you can find some reviews on the web but all are very commercially.

All of the above and if those are Zipp clinchers, ditch those too. There are lighter clincher wheelsets.

I swapped from an R3 to an S5 over the winter and am really pleased with it.
As it's my first experience of an aero bike, it's fantastic!
Holds a higher speed for the same Watts as the R3 and feels much stiffer, it's not as comfortable as the R3 as it's very stiff, and it does suffer from cross winds but all to be expected.
I went for the aero bars too which have taken a bit of getting used to, but I now love. Biggest ball ache has been having my Garmin 520 mounted on top of the stem as the ENVE stem mounted version did not fit my stem.
The thing I miss most with the R3 is the climbing ability, my S5 is not a light bike (Di2 6870, Wheelsmith50 carbon clinchers, Garmin Vectors, ISM road saddle, etc) at 8.05Kg and the R3 would have left it for dead.
But, if I had both bikes in the garage to choose from on a Sunday, 9 times out of 10 I'd take the S5.

Someone at Cervelo said where you have it actually benefits the aero. Have you tried mounting it on the part of the bar just ahead of the stem? I've seen Garmin mounts elastic band mounted in this location.

I think that's the best way with this bar. I tried on the stem, but it doesn't look good.
One small thing, the unit is slightly tilted forward following the bar's shape.

Bike weight's 7.40kg exactly. Anything I can do to reduce the weight further?
Skewers?
Saddle?
Stem?
Handlebar?
Bottle cages?
Pedals?
Hello, can you share please the measurements on the bike and your height? I want to see how it would look like for me.
Naturel wrote:Hello, anybody knows the weight of the S5 frame (size 54), the fork and the seatpost?
Thank you for your help.
Check this topic for weights. It's for a 58cm frame. A 54cm frame is about 100g lighter.
