Zipp sl carbon dropbar
Reach: 85mm CtoC: 420mm Flare:0mm /179g

*I love every part of this stiff and light bars except for unacceptably long reach which is quite outdated nowadays. It is now discontinued.

Bontrager Paradigm xxx (it’s discontinued too haha) width: 143
/150g

*I am willing to buy Tune speedneedle or Kom vor saddle. Expected weight reduction: 45-50g

Specialized roval clx 64 tl ready, rim plugged / 1615g

*For rim brk using weightweenies, 1600g may be uncomfortable. However, considering that this is disc brk specific wheelset and its height (64mm) 1615 is quite desent.

J&L 12mm axles fr and rr

* Original skewers were damn helluva heavy. They were 135g total :(

Front - Length: 125 mm/ Thread: 12 mm/ Thread Pitch M12x1.50
Rear -length: 176mm/ thread: 19.2mm/ thread pitch M12x1.75

There are many options out there. I bought J&L thru axles on ebay.

Squashednuts thanks!. I once had it too. I really miss it. I do not know why I did sell it for 140$ and purchased bontrager XXX instead.

Lovely!!!
may I ask your height, inseam and BB to Saddle distance?
I am 168 cm tall and use 69 cm BB to Saddle and I am between a 48 and 51 S3...
as I understand both will do but which will fit the best?

Great bike! I know you can save a lot of weight with a saddle swap but I gotta say that saddle shape / color looks badass on that bike!

Nice bike! You nailed the unique looking seat post by tugging in a tail light. Good job!

As I see your bike doesn't have the RAT through axles? Is this the case for all S3 discs, including 2018? Probably it is because this bike was developed before Cervelo was bought by the parent company of Focus (PON Holding) who is the inventor of RAT axles. I just received my R3 Disc frame (2018 model) and it has RAT axles. Heavy! And probably no way to change to lighter axles.

RAT are user friendly IMO
Very easy to remove & replace wheels

The are replacements available from Robert Axle Project, which will save a few grams

Sorry for being late. I’ve been really busy :)
I am 175cm tall and use 71~70cm bb to the centre of saddle.
I think 51 will fit but 48 seems to be a better option.

Sighhhhh.... I really wanted to hide that awkwardly distorted post using rear light.

Thank you

Hmm. I dunno exactly what happened. Sorry :(

I once had a focus mares cx bike (RAT axle)
I also got disappointed with rats just like you.
They were seriously heavier than conventional dt axles.
As you mentioned above, Rat specific axle nut design prevents users froms using 3rd party parts without spending quite some money.
Weightnweenies should prefer conventional threaded axles to rats.

still struggling with the decision... I am a 53 year cyclist, ultra fit but the lower stack of the 48 seems impossible to achieve...
