I think when it's done the stem will match the bike pretty nicely. The top tube is flat to match the lines of the stem and the downtube is really big which should match the scale. If not we can change it.
I'm often surprised by how hard some companies/media find it to be to put together a light bike that works, they often don't realize more weight is saved in the little details rather than by replacing the largest items with lighter ones.
We looked at a few different frames and decided that when you look at the package this is definitely one of the lighter setups. We could have done a Parlee as well but have already built quite a few of those and we wanted to see what we could do with the Factor.
Part 2 of the project is posted: http://blog.fairwheelbikes.com/2018/02/ ... ct-part-2/ Some of the highlights:
BB after some mods, shaved 24 grams.
Mixing Fibre Lyte 34t with Carbon Ti 50T
Rear Derailleur, after a pulley wheel change, 13 grams lighter
Progress so far,
Now on to the wheels and some of the final details.

Loving the blog explanation - should have read that before I quoted you Madcow then deleted it. Sorry!
Any chance of putting up pics of the prototype Myth crank though? Is this the original Mythical crankset or one of the new prototype Ride Wert titanium ones?

I think 5.2kg is no way for Clincher wheelset, but if using tubular wheelset( like AX or Extralite) and superlight tubular tire maybe can be very near.
Looking good bro! Keep up the good work!

i am also badly looking for the complete bike haha
OMG, 822gr disc wheels? Talking about about pushing the limits What would be a realistic rider weight limit for such a wheelset? And not only for staying in 1 piece, but more for the riding characteristics in general.
Current bikes:
Scott Addict Premium Disc 2018
Scott Addict Orica Greenedge 2015
Retired:
Canyon Endurace CF SLX 2016

They came out at 821 grams. As for a weight limit no we don't have one yet. Being 61kgs and very easy on my bikes I don't particularly have concerns that these will be fine for me. The bigger question will be about lateral stiffness once some of the heavier and stronger guys here get to ride it and how well the ti spokes hold up in low spoke count disc wheels. I've been using the spokes in a 28h disc version on my mtb for almost 2 years and haven't had a single issue with them.
Finished weight just below 5.1kgs.

To do it exactly like this it would be just a touch over $12k.
