@SLCBrandon - I did read through all 1296 posts on the 2014 Felt AR1 thread before deciding on pursuing this frame. I was 99% certain that the frame would be in the mid to low 900 gram range. This frame was never intended to be a weight weenie bike when designed by Felt engineers so I am not bothered by it any more. I am going to try and make this build as aero as possible with the lightest parts possible. How did the saying go again?? Aero is Light and Right.

I am all stripped down and ready. Will the Textreme carbon look cool with the Madfiber's 12K carbon pattern? But, are Madfiber wheels aero? These are the tubuar version so I will not have issues with delamination.

Build looks awesome! So many carbon goodies! I love the mad fiber wheels

Man you got a treasure trove somewhere in the basement or something... First gen tri rig stuff, madfibers...

Love the naked carbon look on everything! But does your missus like it as much?

@Kayrehn - She actually likes flat black stealth because she is a ninja. But when this bike gets it's 1990s purple freak on I think she will love it.

Looks like that stem is the last shiny bit that still needs sanding ?

@KarlC - the entire module is going to Kevosinn @ Cryptic Cycles where the base bar will be bonded to the stem. The frame, seat post, fork, and crankset will get his special touches.

I think this mock up looks pretty cool. I think I will need deeper section wheels. Reynolds RZR 92s? What about the Edco Simplon which are 105mm deep?

I think those wheels are a perfect depth. Also your wife may not like the increased difficulty of controlling deeper wheels.

@JScycle - you are right but I have a problem of wanting more crap than I need.

Yeh I understand that. At the very least don't put the 100mm wheels on her bike and if you decide to get them use them yourself.

Edco Simplon at 105mm may be overboard. Edco Fluela at 85mm will be better. Plus, that is what I want on my TT bike if things don't work out :beerchug:

Yes she has been riding. I need to update the other thread with pics of her riding the bike. She is not a superstar yet but she is improving. She only knows how to go straight. Lol. Her handling is not very good. So I am building this so she can drop her head and go straight. She is not quite like Caleb Ewen yet like I hoped. She also likes to wear Lululemon crap when riding instead of the Rapha stuff I got her.

Im really glad to hear that she is riding. I was slightly worried that she would have stopped riding because of what I had read on the other thread (crashes etc). Baby steps, straight is better than nothing. Good luck with the whole process!
