So I've come to be quite fond of the Berk List despite normally being adamant about riding a cutout. As some may know, I ride mostly just for the sake of descending - and high speed descents mean I will be sitting on the top tube and doing my best Armadillo impression. The length of the List makes that a bit of a nuisance (but by no means impossible). KWalkers custom saddles caught my attention and I finally talked myself into snagging the last one. At my weight, I definitely would have been fine on the round rails - and would have preferred them - but snooze and ya lose.

Still good enough to shave 22g from the List :)

Time for an update. I'd have posted some new wheels earlier, but they got stolen from my doorstep...

Fast forward a week, one set of wheels is still MIA - but at least I've got some weenie wheels! I stumbled across the new Aeolus XXX and they seemed interesting. DT swiss internals and a claimed 976g. Off to a good start when they came in under the advertised weight...

Ditched the Bontrager stickers and saved 3g.

Snagged some Carbonworks cages from Huck*this

Going to have to snag some aluminum countersunk bolts from Toronto Cycles.

I realize almost immediately that I'm not so crazy about the look of wheels this shallow. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to getting out on them tomorrow. Also just swapped in some Thomson bars. I love the look of the Deda bar but I've grown slightly annoyed with not being able to get the SR hoods exactly where I want... and I've missed a flatter top that went away with the newer Superleggera bar. So far, this Thomson feels nice. If I decide to keep it, I'll sand it down and buff it.

Total weight is down to 5760g as pictured.

^maybe. But I'll be riding them for a bit more to come up with an opinion first. On the ride into work this morning, my only impression (aside from being as smooth as you'd expect) was that braking with the Bontrager cork pads is on par with Lightweight using Campy red pads (which braked better than any other pads I used on that wheel). And braking is almost silent!

How very surprising of you to have that opinion! My favorite look is still the Boras. Followed by Reynolds 46.

Ventoux were overkill and I was paranoid riding them. Almost no performance gained over the ThirtyTwos which were also ~30g lighter and a fraction of the cost.
