I built this up 5-6 months ago but only got around to posting after dudemanppl, my main lil buddy, took some fantastic pics of it.

I initially was interested in just finding something unique and was open to pretty much anything when I started to looking at Basso as a brand. I really had no idea they were still handmade in Italy and next to MotoGP and F1 parts at that.

I'm terrible at build threads but I'll list the basics:

The first thing that stuck out as soon as I opened the box was how amazing the paint is. I've owned A LOT of bikes and this is hands down the best paint quality on any bike I've owned. Conversely, the rubber cable entry grommet thingies are pretty low end in comparison. They fit poorly and I thought I remembered another forum member mentioning the same on their Basso.

I absolutely love the stem and how it fits with the look of the bike even though it weighs SO much (190g) and the geo is fantastic, IMO. Overall its one of the better all around bikes/builds I've owned.

First time I've seen this color combo on any frame. It works and is unique. I'll bet you won't ever see another one like it. Fantastic.

Awesome frame, beautiful bike and photos!

Basso still keeps production in Italy, their frames are really well made from carbon manufacturing in house to the final paintbrushing.

Lovely build and wonderful colour too! How does it ride compared to previous bikes you've owned?

Also, out of curiosity, what were your reasons for using a SRAM cassette, and do you find any issues with the rest of Campy drivetrain?

Thanks everyone, it's been a fantastic bike so far.

The XG cassette is mostly a result of buying the Bora's second hand and having a Sram freehub and me having a lot of Sram cassettes. Also, I have a record cassette for it now but still prefer the weight savings of the XG. As far as comparability/shifting performance, no issues at all. I have had 4-5 Campy groups and I swap wheels between bikes a lot for fun and have mixed back and forth with no issues other than some minor tension tweaks.
