With tubulars, lighter brakes, and lighter cages :)

While you're on clinchers, though, throw some latex tubes in there and really enjoy the ride!

Even pro aero or aero hybrid bikes (like the Dogma) are seldom 6.8 kg even with tubulars when running deep section wheels.

Elia Viviani's Dogma F10 with Shimano 60mm tubs comes in at 7.3 kg. That despite Sky's marginal gains philosophy and them trying to eek out every last gram of weight savings (Just check Geraint Thomas' Bolide TT). Obviously they are tied to sponsorship obligations, so you could drop weight using SRAM Red Etap Instead of Shimano Dura Ace and could go with a lighter stem, but by and large, you can't really do that much when still running 60mm+ wheels etc.

you can also loose 30g with KCNC Yokes. pretty cheap for that weight..You will just have to find right screws for it.

My F8 is a bit lighter than the OP´s but frankly, although tuning can get you a bit here and there, the moose on the table, so to speak, are the wheels. Either sit tight till youve got the money and buy a lighter pair, or dont, and accept that its a thing of speed and beauty and taking one water bottle as opposed to two on the ride will cover the rest of the weight.

I believe Viviani and Cavendish used Size 51cm Pinarello's with 140mm Stems. They claimed they wanted less surface area on the bike to be more aerodynamic ... "marginal gains". I wouldn't mind moving down to a 53cm from 54cm but 51cm...? I'm not trying to be a pro or anything at 28 in Cat 3 Lol.

To be fair, Team Sky was also accused of having motors in their wheels because their bikes are also 800g heavier on average than all of their competitors in the pro peloton. 8) I checked the box but no motor kit included. Go figure.

Wiggins used size 56 with 140mm stem as well at 6'3".

In a nutshell yes. They use 1-2 sizes smaller than the average joe. They want it super long and super low. You reduce the size of the headtube significantly when sizing down and not using spacers. Also weight is shifted further forward over the front tyre. Some feel that aids cornering.
