After being here for over 3 years, maybe it's time to introduce myself.

I just bought my new bike. I'm completely indifferent to the disc brake vs. rim brake debate.
The Pinarello Dogma F8 or F10 were up against this bike for me in the final round and I was able to get this bike for 2000 Euros less than the Dogma F8 and 3000 Euros less than the Dogma F10 (with same Ultegra Di2, Talon cockpit and Bora One 50 wheels).

So, I bought this because I loved it and I got the best deal on it.

Comes in at 8,3 kg with Arundel Mandible bottle cage and Dura Ace 9000 pedals.

Size 54

Apologies for the terrible pictures (crank position, not being in 52-11 etc.). I only have these at the moment. Will update once I have better ones, when the weather becomes better.

I already know a bunch of people, but Hi anyway!

Thanks!

First few ride impressions. Makes you feel incredibly fast and efficient. However, the bike does feel somewhat twitchy. I'd compare it to flying a fighter jet. It's really manoeuvrable, but you pay the price on it not feeling extremely stable. I still need to get used to it, so maybe that will pass. I think it is intended this way though.

The 64mm wheels do pull and tug a little in crosswinds and even headwinds, but it's really easy to handle when you are aware of the possibility. Maybe that is also because I'm probably not a lightweight at 70 kg for a cyclist.

It's obviously nowhere close to some of the spectacular projects displayed here, but it's my bike and I ride it and love it!

Also, the metallic grey paint is much nicer in person. It has flecks of green and red in it in direct sunlight.

I guess I don't feel like such a heavyweight at 7.7kg on my Giant Disc bike.

She looks pretty...how do you look those bars?

I was also considering the same bikes. I ended up with an F8 because i got a deal on the frame. I built mine up with 404 NSWs, e-tap and the Pinarello bars and stem. I ended up at 15.5 lbs for a size 54, for comparison. It rides beautifully and feels noticeably faster than my BMC SLR01.

Enjoy your ride. It's a beauty.

The bike looks really find indeed, I'm glad there's another disc ViAS on the forums. Can you take a picture(s) for me of the BB area? I'd like to see pictures like these: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2jVKI ... F6RTg/view, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2jVKI ... d1QTg/view - I'm interested in getting Specialized crankset for my ViAS frame but I want to see how it looks at the BB area (are there any spacers? how does it look overall?).

Thanks zzmkdw. Your setup is pretty much the best of the best! Have you posted it here before? I bet it looks gorgeous!

I'll try to get you those pics in the next 1-2 days, lovemyway.

Love the Venge! I'm resisting the urge to buy one. You'll get use to the aggressive handling and will think more relaxed geometry is like riding in slow motion.

Don't apologize for your rig compared to others. A hydrolic Di2 Venge is up there with the rest.

I know the black Turbo tires look the part but the Turbo cottons are magic. I also think the Venge begs for Sworks cages.

Thanks for the kind words!

When these tyres wear out, I'll look into maybe getting the Turbo cottons. I may have to find something else like a modification to the saddle or part of the bar tape to tie the colour change from the tan sidewalls in with the rest of the bike.

I'm still at work. Guess that takes care of it. Let me know if you need further pictures, lovemyway.

... pictures ... , don't want to take up the space

Something like this?

Thank you Spez, these are good; I thought there's going to be a little less space (like 5mm less) between the crank arms and the frame, maybe because everything's from Specialized. These looks pretty good, too, though, but please confirm if it's the way it should look like.

I completely forgot you got the same bike Spez... Do you have any updates regarding the ride quality and your overall experience with the bike?

No intention to hijack this tread, but overall impression; it just want's to go fast. The cottons got me the comfort i was looking for;)

Have fun with it MRM!

Bedankt Spez!

Feel free to post all your impressions. I love your build with the tan sidewalls as well! I'll check that out once i've burned through my tyres.
