Going with a canondale kp017 expander, golfsierra , should give me 20+ grams back and will make up for the sram gxp bb being heavier than the shimano one I removed, I'll give it a try anyway.
Yes Johnny rad, not legal , with future plans to get even more so!

Quick update, I put the da c24 wheels back on and I think this is the way the bike will stay for a while @ 6.79kg.
Keeping my eyes open for a red exogram crankset, some lighter brakes, and maybe a lighter wheelset, but for now it's all about riding.
First impressions, comfortable, power transfers well, climbs well, tracks well, confidence inspiring stability.
I really do think this ALR is a hidden gem, and I think that a real world weight of 6.5kg is achievable

Latest update, got a new wheelset built for me by DCR wheels here in uk I wanted to lose a bit of weight from my 1463g d/a c24s but wanted to stay alloy clincher but with increased internal width.
So I ended up with a wheelset built up using DCR Raceday hubs, 24 cx Ray spokes both wheels, front built with ryde pulse sprint rim , rear built with DCR own rim.
Total weight inc rim strips but without skewers = 1380g
They are a nice light but sturdy wheelset and a true as true could be, and suitable for my weight which can be 76kg in winter, and 72kg in summer
So my emonda ALR now tips the scales at 6.62 kg real world weight

Hi yes I went with different rims as the ryde pulse sprint rear was not in stock and looks to be like that Going forward,so the lightest option was the ryde sprint front and DCR rear.
They don't look unmatched you would have to look hard to spot the difference.
But they are a cracking wheel set, and keeping with 24 h front and rear they look very similar to the original bontrager wheels, so keeping the stealth idea, the bike looks like any other ALR , but is 2.2 kg lighter.

We're never done. The chase to drop unnecessary weight is never done.
Are you sub 6.5kg, yet?
Plans for the crank?

Hi Jonny rad,
Keeping my eyes open for a red exogram gxp crankset which would loose another lump off it.
But I don't think I'd get to sub 6.5kg with it.
Pretty happy with the weight savings on this project so that might be it for this , which is my first attempt to be honest.
But during the build up I kept weighing it and at 5.7 kg I got the feeling that a future project would have to be around that sort of weight.
So roll on the next projects.
