It's coming, I promise. Something had to be held out for another piece of coverage. It won't be long I promise.

I've read all 5 parts and out of curiosity for such a nice project, why did you go with Ultegra DI2? Nothing wrong with Ultegra, but felt like it was a bit of a let down for such a nice build.

There were a couple of reasons. To me Ultegra represents 95% the performance, for half the cost. Putting Ultegra Di2 on meant that I could put more money into getting the higher end RT-1 frame and then do custom paint. I also see the groupset as one of the more transient parts to the bike and something I can/will upgrade in the near future.

It came down to picking battles here and there, using some of what I had, and in the end I'm really happy. When and if an upgraded Ultegra comes out or I can afford a 9100 I'll pull this and swap it onto my Scapin.

^ This is something overlooked far too often. So many people who come through my LBS get more caught up in having Dura Ace/ XTR than finding a frame that works for them and as such wind up on a Giant haha.

Awesome build and story. Love the subtle accents of colour on the bike.

Great write-up, photos and frame! I was just reading about that frame today and it's on my list of candidates for my next build.

I thought I saw this bike go past my place recently....and now I see the pic of you riding around the bend on Ellis Park Road. Nice!

Amazing ride and amazing photos! The way it's delivered reminds me of Rapha's web site.

Sorry for the delay and the secrecy. The drive side and full bike shots were being saved as part of a synopsis story on Cycle Exif. They are now up and live. Check the story and images on Cycle Exif.

Here's a couple teasers.

Never got around to posting this one before. The welding on the Mosaic's is beautiful. No matter how much I stare at it, I never get bored.
