Burls Ti Dura-Ace Di2
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Here are few shots of my Ti build.
I decided to go custom as I couldn't find a frame with internally routed di2 and rim brakes. I wanted a traditional horizontal top tube with a fairly racy geometry. I read a few reviews and decided to message Justin Burls to get what I wanted. He did not disappoint!
I've not weighted much as I was so keen to get her built and ridden before the roads get salted. It was not meant to be super light but I'm sure we'll look to shed a few grams over time! I'd imagine she'll be weighing in around the 7.5-8kg mark so plenty of room for improvement!
I can't quite decide whether to replace the Zipp decals for black but we'll see!

Great looking build!
Justin is a real pleasure to deal with I'd have to agree.
I'd have to say go for the black decals on the wheels but then I am biased.

Just back from my first ride today (20miles only), it was hovering around 1 degree so probably not the best time to ride but it had to be done. I have to say the ride wasn't what i was expecting, in a good way. The ride was very smooth. The titanium certainly dampens the road vibration a lot more than i was expecting. I was running 23 tyres at 100 psi and it felt so smooth i could hardly believe it. I done a few small climbs and there was hardly any flex at all. I did feel a little heavier than my Supersix but that maybe down to a lack of riding and the cold. I can't really fault it to be honest.
So far so good!
Do you think I should remove the Deda & Zipp decals and go more stealth?

I was amazed by the difference between Ti and Carbon as well. My Burls is so much more comfortable than my Canyon, in fact I've not ridden my Canyon once since I built the Burls. The only time I've actually noticed the difference in stiffness between the two is during heavy sprints. I'd keep the Deda decals just switch the Zipp decals to black.

I think the Supersix will be banished to the turbo. Maybe I'll buy a Burls Steel for the winter and just ride the Ti in the Summer. Black Zipp Decals Ordered!
Yeah, the difference between Ti and Carbon amazed me also. My only little niggle with the Burls frame is, I wish they were butted tubes to get the weight down a little. The frame's compared to other brands aren't overly light.
What diameter is your seatpost clamp out of curiosity?
Mine's 28.6mm and I'm struggling to find a ti clamp that'll fit.

It is a little heavy I guess but the smooth ride more than makes up for that. I'm not sure what other Ti frames come in at to be honest? Seat clamp wise I went with the Burls Ti clamp, it weights about 31g so again a little heavy compared to some.

Yep, I think we're all on the same page who have tried both carbon and ti frames
