Not Acetone, Dichloromethane & Phenol. Much more effective.

Starchem Synstrip to get rid of the paint (messy and dangerous, but worth it)

Then 3M Scotchbrite pads to get it finished (for now).

I started with DarkGreen (medium), then skipped brown and straight onto Grey (Very fine).

It's quite a lot smoother and close to a polished finish than the pic I took reflects actually.

Took a few closeups to highlight.

I have some White pads (non-abrasive) which would get it 100% mirror polished, which i might have a stab at the next time its stripped down.

Be-ware of going for this look...

I have become OCD about fingerprints on the frame.

worth the extra effort polishing in my opinion... considering yours looks like its closer to mirror polished than factory brushed finish. well done...

Lovely bike.
What size is it , small ?

I am riding a 52cm super-six, should I get a medium T1 frame ?

I was on 50cm super six Evo hi Mod. went to Small T1, still too small... after few months, changed to Medium T1 last week. BTW, my other bikes around 53-54 e TT.

Just finished a titanium build of a Merlin Magia. Purchased it on the Bay. I have always wanted a Merlin since my college days working at a bike shop.

Not a weightweenie build, but more for comfort and more relaxed fit. Weight is 6925 g.

Merlin Magia Medium
Reynolds fork
Sram Force shifters, and derailleurs.
Sram Rival brakes with black prince pads.
Sram Red GXP crank 50/34 with ceramic bb.
Look Keo carbon cromo pedals
Light Bicycle 45mm U rims built on Bitex 210g/80g hubs 10 sp, Sapim Laser 20/24. Ti skewers.
Vittoria Open Corsa CX 25mm tires
Sram Red 11-26 cassette
Specialized Romin expert 155mm with Specialized Pave seatpost
3t pro 90mm stem/Easton ec90 slx 42mm handlebar
Fizik 3mm gel pad bar tape.

Very nice job on the Merlin build. About the only thing I think I would do different is I'm just such a big fan of the straight legged forks but that is only something cosmetic and my personal preference.

Nice bikes, chazmtb!
Looks like you prefer more forward saddle position (and not exactly horizontal) but use layback seatposts.

@leugene. The specialized romin has a high back and a slight tilt down nose. I should get a zero offset post like a Thompson but I already had a specialized pave with the zerts insert around. Want comfort more than anything else on this build. Hence many spacers below the stem.

@newsboy you crazy! How many titanium frames there can be upcycled ... it'd only be better if the frames were built and ridden!
