Are you going to be fitting a power meter?

Maybe in the future but I'm training with cadence not power at the moment which I get on well with.

I'd either go for the Quarq upgrade or a stages crank if they do a new red exogram one.

My saddle arrived today. Fabric ALM Shallow Airbus carbon.

I am already using a Fabric Flat Pro Scoop saddle on my CAAD10 and get on with it super well. I was originally going to go one up on that and get the Ultimate version for my Emonda build. But this ALM came up for a price I couldn't resist so I thought i'd try it out.

Grey Fabric logo on the top of the saddle.

Came out at 149g on my scales.

Awesome build. I have the same frameset and love it. For the record, this is not the 5g vapor colorway--it's the standard matte black scheme. The vapor colorway would drop the weight further.

Thanks a lot! What sort of weight is your build? I can't wait to ride it.

I see now after some more hunting around the vapour coat shows a lot of the carbon, I see it's the SLR 9 so in between painted fully and vapour. Thanks for the heads up

Thanks very much! I just want to get it looking more like a bike now and not a load of jigsaw pieces.

Awsome build - but why din't you bought the Quarq to go with .... best investment I did was buying a Powermeter.

Thanks very much!

I'm not fussed with getting a power meter at the moment, for me i'm training just fine with cadence and don't think i need to make the jump just yet. I can always go for it in the future, if i did everything i wanted to the build in one go i'd only get bored of it quicker

Also the Quarq 172.5mm GXP for red etap crank is pretty much sold out everywhere right now.

Awesome build... I'm not generally a Trek fan at all, but this bike looks pretty sweet and it seems like you're putting together a nice package with it.

I've seen you mention a couple of times in the thread the you're training with cadence... I don't understand how this works at all. Cadence doesn't represent any sort of workload and is completely variable based on the gear you select. I train with power and think its great, but I could see how someone might use heart rate or even simply speed to train, but I can't seem to figure out how you'd use cadence specifically, for training. Can you elaborate?

Thanks! This is my first trek, I do love the new madone too.

More so on the turbo, holding set cadences for blocks at different gears. And on the road doing a lot of mixed cadence for the winter miles, higher gears/lower cadence on the hills and lower gears/higher cadence on the flats. I still use my HRM on every ride.

I'm not saying power wouldn't be a better choice but I can't justify it at my level right now, and the cost.

Little update. Things are starting to come together.

Waiting on chain and tape to arrive. Also i need a different seat rail clamp as it doesn't fit my carbon rails on the ALM saddle.
