Well, a Crumpton is on my bucket list. I need another bike like a hole in the head, but pm me if you decide to sell. I'd be interested in the frameset or bike with shift group and brakes...

Well, these were a pleasant surprise and should go nicely with the SISL2 SRM when I move that over.

Transplant time!

Crumpton is officially sold so some goodies get put (back) onto the Litespeed. First up is the SISL2 SRM. I had Force rings on it which was a good weight and performance at 121g:

But these rings...the Cannondale MKV compact rings are in a different league. They ended up being the same weight as the Extralite when you factor in bolts. The huge upside is that they shift significantly better.

Make sure you grease your bolts, but this was on the tad excessive side:

Old rings with bolts:

Complete crankset with pedals (145g) and spacers:

Plus this little guy:

Ready to Rock 'n Roll:

Unfortunately, this was something like a 100g+ change. Red is a lot lighter even when coupled with heavy Praxis rings.

Imaqueen, go away...

Updated kit with the Boras rolling on the fatties (27mm Vlaanderen):

Image

Weight increased a bit as the SRM was +100g over the SRAM Red setup and I went to SR Dual Pivot Rear (+25g) to get the necessary clearance for Vlaanderens. I did drop about 40g on bottle cages. Currently hovering around 14lbs or 6.3-6.4kg. With the CCU and KCNC skewers it's 6.2kg. Schmolke is doing a buy two TLO and get 20% off and I'm really trying to resist that. Right now everything is dialed in and perfect anyway, so I'm not sure if I want to mess with new bars, a new shape and possibly needing a new stem.

I bought another CK PF30 bottom bracket that's sitting on my desk. I'll put that in this weekend since the SRM is barely clearing the SRAM PF30 delrin cups. I'll be going the loctite route this time with the CK BB though, since last time it was making noise with copper paste after several thousand miles. I also have an Ag2r blue SRM PC8 coming, which should be a perfect match for this bike.

Also, first ride today with the MKV rings and they shifted flawlessly. Pickup was very quick and transition from big to little and back was lightning quick. Definitely hoarding some more of these.

Just FYI, I tried a CK PF30 in my NeilPryde and it definetely added some width and prevented the use of the standard conic spacers of the Rotor 3D+ crankset (which is basically BB386). I could have filed down the spacer or searched for slimmer spacers, but in the end it was easier to just use a SRAM BB. I have an Enduro threaded BB to try eventually.

I won't try buy more off you then

The MKV's are really good rings, shifting on etap has been flawless.

Bike is looking real nice with the SRM and SiSL2 cranks.
