Oltre XR2.jpg
Picked this up Saturday after work and spent till midnight sorting out the position as best I could. It needs a lower headset top cap to drop the bars a bit more but apart from that it felt great on yesterdays inaugural 130 mile outing! Better than my Litespeed T1 on small road imperfections but not so good on the bigger ones. Much stiffer out of the saddle!

Been after a new carbon frame for the last few years but nothing really took my fancy as I need quite specific geometry (long TT short ST) due to my hobbit proportions. Nearly changed my order to an XR4 but I just didn't like the colour schemes on offer and the price was going to be nearly double what I negotiated for the XR2 and also I've waited 9 months for this to arrive and wanted a bike for next spring at the latest.

Very happy so far and it feels like the spiritual successor to the 2006 Derosa Protos I made the mistake of selling in 2010 when I stopped riding for various reasons.

Bianchi Oltre XR2 50cm (2016 - black matt/celeste glossy)
Deda SuperZero bars (110 mm)
Deda SuperZero stem (420 mm)
Selle Italia SLR flow Saddle
Campagnolo Super Record Groupset
Campagnolo Bora 50C Wheelset
Michelin Power Competition 23mm Tyres
Arundel Mandible bottle cages

So far very happy indeed! Not sure how to get the picture any larger?

It was 6.7 kg before I put the Garmin mount on.

Saddle is a Selle Italia SLR flow (https://www.selleitalia.com/en/saddles/slr-flow-black/)

Happy with the weight. The bars / stem are fairly heavy at 235g/145g so there are options there but getting the right position is more important. I have Deda Superlegerro bars stem on my other bike and they were 180g/105g. Tubulars would save another 200g. Maybe another 100g for super light bar tape (i use Fizik 3mm) and a full carbon saddle. 6.2 to 6.3 kg would be easy to achieve but i'll probably add a power meter in the spring but still easily be under 7 kg!!
