Supersix Evo Hi-Mod, first WW build
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
First time weight weenie, my current bike is an 8kg Felt AR series which works fine here in SUPER FLAT Florida. But all my holiday bike trips are 100% climbing (did Haute Route Alps last year + lots of trips to NC), hence the want for a lighter travel bike for climbing trips. Just picked up a 2016 SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod (ultegra) and going to strip the Ultegra group off and rebuild.
Stock weight, no pedals or cages: 6.740kg
Frame Set: Supersix Evo Hi Mod 54cm (1880g for frame, BB, SI crank, hangers, fork, headset)
Wheels: FLO cycling 45 CC 1500g with veloplugs, Latex tubes 150g, Tires GP4000S 410g Skewers 43g = 2103g
Crank: Hollowgram SL 170mm + Spider + Absolute Black 52/36 chainrings (on the way)
Brakes: SRAM Red 259g
Shifters: SRAM Red 285g
Chain: KC1C ~ 233g
Cassette: SRAM Red WiFli 185g
Rear Derailleur: SRAM Red WiFli: 162g
Front Derailleur: Sram Red 75g
K Edge Chain Catcher: 9g
Bars: 3T Aeronova LTD 205g
Stem: 3T ARX II 80mm 115g
Tape: Lizard Skin DSP 2.5mm 59g
Housing: Jagwire Elite 104g
Cables: KCNC Ti 33g
Bar Ends: Fairwheel carbon 5g
Seat post: Cannondale Save Carbon 197g still have to cut it
Saddle: Selle Italia Carbonio 136g
Pedals: Garmin Vecotr 2 S 343g
Bottle Cages: Blackburn 50g for both cages and hardware
Estimate this puts it around 6.25kg so would need to build some Stans or Pacenti clinchers to get to 6kg.

Hey, I'm new here too. The crowd here seems tough on first timers build threads like ours so here some Kudos from me ha !
I'm sure you'll be fine though as that looks like a great list of parts - Nice tyre and tube combo and you could always use Velo plugs to drop another 15g or so a wheel
perhaps a KCNC X11 SL chain too 232g uncut
Good luck .

Did you add up the weights or make a spreadsheet?
The parts look more like a 6.8 kg build to me

Yes I have a spreadsheet but need to wait for parts to measure actual vs estimated weight.
Stock weight is around 6.886kg
I calculated I have knocked 640 grams off the stock Ultegra build with Kysriums.
Thanks for chain suggestion! I could also leave the SRM on my Felt and go with a Garmin Vector instead to save some extra weight.
240g to go, so probably look at Red instead of Force.

Looking forward to seeing some pics. Is it a 27.2mm seatpost frame? If so, a Hylix post from eBay is a very cheap way to get a sub 150g post. Also, continental supersonic tubes are claimed 50g a piece (I have some sat right here but am yet to weigh them) so there's another potential 50g saved over your Michelin tubes.
Seat post is 25.4 hard to find, supposedly the Carbon Cannondale seat post cut should be around 160-170g, stock is 210g. Estimate I need around 250g to get to 6kg, following changes made:
-50g 3T cockpit with same reach and bars as my current setup which I love
-70g SRAM Red instead of Force
-30g cut seat post
-50g tubes

-50g tubes
I can verify the Conti Supersonics weights at circa 50grams a pop (weighed a few come out +/-2g)

I dig your frame choice. It's at the top of my list, but I'm not shopping ... (I keep telling myself).
Your wheelset is ripe for weight savings. You don't need to go tubular either.
Post up some pics already! Get that mailman over to your place already.

Picking up bike tomorrow, will weight it then strip the ultegra group off. Red shifters and derailleurs are in the mail, as are the KCNC CB1 brakes. Wheels should also arrive hopefully by end of the week. Still need to order bars, either Zipp Contour SL (190g) or 3T Aeronova LTD (205g).
How are the Swift Power Cordz cables? The Aican sound like a PITA.

Aican brake cables have been great for me over the years - set and forget.
Have previously used iLinks for shift cables that never seemed to stay in tune. Yokozuna Reactions shift cables were best for me despite their heavier weight.
