I've held off and now I'm thinking of just giving the frame a coat of boiled linseed oil inside and out...regular rub downs with this should work, might get a nice patina too?

Definitely do not powder coat it now, you'll only be disappointed!

I think the Patina could look great, especially with leather bar tape.

Thanks guy!

Raw finish/patina with leather bar tape would look great RyanH!

I've been offered a very good deal by a frame painter, the only thing is I won't have the frame painted until Christmas due to a backlog of work...

These pics are examples of what I like at the moment...

Take a look at these. A lot of there bikes have a colored clear and not no real paintjob Cool thing about that technique, is that you still see what's underneath the clear.

Why not get it powdercoated clear?

I've enquired about clear powdercoat and it's pretty cheap (approx $80) but my understanding is because of the lack of primer underneath it may still rust...if I did go that way I would still need to go over the frame several more times with steel wool prior.
