Just got my Scalpel Team 2015. It´s replacing my Stumpy FSR S-Works 2014 that replaced my Epic Elite 2015.

I´m blown away on the lightness and stiffness of this sweet ride :D

It´s fully specced with complete XX1 drive train, XX1 brakes, Stans No Tubes ZTR Valor Carbon Wheelset (http://www.notubes.com/Valor-Pro-29-P1696.aspx).

Currently weight with Fizzik alu seatpost and older Fizzik saddle and Truvative T30 Carbon Handlebar. Just arriving in the mail is FSA K-force Team handlebar and FSA K-force SB25 Seatpost.

Including XT pedals, Zee Cage and above configuration it´s weighing in at 9.6 Kg

Nice ride! I'd be scared that I'd break something that light!

Hit me up for some tuning help. Take a look at my Scalpel Custom I built a couple years ago.

I'd flip the upper and lower headset bearings. It totally changes the ride and lowers the front end (and pushes the front wheels out just a little) for a more aggressive position.

Cheers

Why? There doesn't appear to be any overly fragile parts on that bike. I've got a 140/140 mm trail bike at below 10,5 kg (should probably mention it's a 26"), and I'm not afraid to push it. Nowadays you can build sensible, durable bikes at pretty decent weights.

Indeed no fragile parts. Unfortunately I took a major crash earlier this week. Approx 40 km/h lost control due to massive mud and took a frontal crash into a tree. Fortunately I was biking with a colleague who call the medics. I was lucky and ended up with a dislocated shoulder, bruised ribs and upper back. Nothing broken despite I feared the worst for my back. The bike was unharmed except one single spoke!

Have upgrade brakes from XX1 to SRAM Level Ultimate. Replaced Fizzik sadle with Prologo Evo 8 Tirox and FSA K Force 700mm handlebar. Without pedals it is now 9.25kgImageImage

He has the spacer on top - flipping it would mean a slacker headtube and a more docile ride.

Still with old seatpost. You can change disc rotors for some Ashima,or something similar. You should save more less 100grams
