Hi All,
kinda a work in progress will post more pictures soon
I've had this colnago for 3 years now, got it damaged on ebay for 100 pounds fixed it and then it sat in various places as I moved around. Finally last summer I decide I neded a bike with a front brake and I did not want to drill my track frame so I assembled the Colnago with the parts I had laying around. It was about 7 kg. Then I put the Sram red/ force drive side crankset and got some carbon bits.
I use this bike as a daily commuter which I take on the train, I live in London and commute to Banbury everyday. I like the non stealth/ beater look. I am planing to get the bike under 5 kg. But I would need to upgrade to a lighter wheelset.
Frame is 1,126 kg with all paint and hangers removed. size 57
Fork is 450 grams
Last month i stripped the paint, I also tuned the seatpost. I cut off the WR compositi set back aluminium top cap and milled it to work as an in line seatpost and saved 80 grams, it's 120 grams now.
before : around 6,5 kg

Great job, Petre!
That's definitely a unique take on the C40, I like the way you've left the one logo on the fork just in case
You've even took the pictures in an appropriate setting to compliment the purpose of this bike!
Well done & enjoy!
Cheers

Thanks for your kindness
Here it is in it's full glory
it was around 6,8 kg then
The only annoying thing is that the BB shell is italian and I had a hard time sourcing a BB that is cheap.

definitely a deluxe commuter bike, for the seatpost did you use a shim? because that seatpost looks like a 27.2 model

No, it's the original 28.0 seat post I just milled some holes in the original to make it in line.
That's awesome - well done!

I stretched the chain out and then I changed the cog to make it fit perfectly. Now I have good chain tension and there is still a couple of mm of adjustment. Long story short just find the magic gearing
some part weights
I actually managed to balance the wheels like that

wonderful stuff. nice to see someone utilising a bike like this and making necessary mods to make it fit their use. i used to ride my c40 to work and people would tell me to "hang it on the wall" and stuff. it's a bike! cool thing is it's light and very comfortable i bet. c40 is pretty armchair if you ask me.
