Tail end of the build now,

only blips remain to arrive.

3T Arx 2 stem 120mm -17 - will probably switch this for 130 -17
Image
156 grams

Fizzy Cyrano R3 42cm - Snake. Love these drops, used aero bars before, but found them too flexy. Alloy does the trick for now. Weighed with the shifters, forgot to do it before getting them right.
Image
526 grams less = 261 grams.

Elite Custom Race Plus Cages - Never had a problem with the old ones, so will give the plus a go.
Image
40 grams x2 = 80 grams

Kedge chain catcher + Magnet
Image
23 grams

The chain catcher replaces the existing the FD bolt. so saved 3 grams there.

Praxis chain ring bolts

8 grams

I can see the light. Almost done, everything is attached and tuned, I just need to wrap the bars and cut the steerer.

Blips arrived this morning.
Image
4 grams each x2 = 8 grams

Also some new rubber for the race wheels.

USE 4.5 Carbon Tubulars

Front
Image
620 grams

Rear:
Image
800 grams

Vittoria Corsa 25 G+ Tubs:

Image
280 grams x2 = 560

So with the existing skewers (102 grams) and cassette (243 grams) I'm at 2324 grams excluding glue for race wheels and 2556 grams. Not the biggest saving, but the USE's are really wide and roll so smooth. Will probably look into going deeper in the future (Zipp 808).

Complete pending fit. Going to cut all that steerer above the stem off. Just need to confirm my measurements match up with the fitters.

Went for the pint tape because the weather here is rubbish at the moment, and a bit of colour is nice to brighten the season. Not expecting it to stay this pink.

7.43kg with the tubulars

7.73kg with my training wheels

Love it! The head tube on my 595 is a bit short. I've considered this as an alternative. It's looking great!

The red end cap on those Speedplay's suggests they are the Track Special model with the higher tension.

Ah, that makes sense. Bought my TT bike from a track rider. Might switch these to my track bike and put my new Speedily Pave's to this.

Bit of a weight gain, but should lose them again when I trim the steerer + and remove the spacers.

I thought about it, but going to a 56 in the S5 would have dropped the head tube another 16mm, but going to the 58 in the s5 I'm only gaining 8mm. Plus the 14mm gain in reach means i'm not running a 150mm stem.

Perfect build. As a 58 would be my size, I like to see, that it can be built pretty, too.

The new Madone would be a good fit then with almost 2cm less stack and a few mm more reach in the 56. Nice build.

The Madone was on the shortlist for the new build. Ended up sticking with the Cervelo, as the S3 has been so good, and I got a really good price on it.

Ya, I don't blame you. I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I wanted the Madone badly but the reach is almost 2cm longer than the Cervelo in my size!

First proper ride on it tonight. Hill reps in the cold and wet. Bike handled brilliantly. Descended great in the wet.

Enjoy going to the longer cranks.
eTap shits so well.
I nailed the blip placement on the bottom of the bars.
PC8 is a huge upgrade from my Garmin 500.
Pink tape looks good in the dark.

Post fit and cut.

Lost 8 grams in steerer + spacers

Image

So the 24 gram gain from the pedals is only 16.
