Thanks again for the positive comments and feedback.
Has anyone got any suggestions on a low weight clincher
wheelset that may take me under 6kg, preferably without
braking the bank.
Not a lot has changed but I did manage a 103 mile (165km)
ride out on it yesterday and it was a pleasure to be on,
comfortable and didn't miss a beat.

Thanks

I think any suggestions for a light wheelset were also tubular. The lightest non Carbon clincher I know of is a combination of the 1st gen stans alpha 340 or something shallow from Kinlin, cx Ray spokes, and the lightest hubs you can afford but in my opinion unless you weigh less tha 65kg this wheelset isn't the kind you can ride on daily and through all sorts of road conditions. The lightest carbon clinchers I know of are from 77 composites and cost to €2900. Any of these would shave about 500gr bringing you to about 6.

If you came across a well priced set of bora 35s or fulcrum speed 40s or roval c40s or Zipp 202s... I think you'd shave some grams, not quite 500gr but it wouldn't hurt the wallet as much either.

Once again guys, thanks for the feedback and comments.

I haven't updated this for a while and thanks to Photobucket, all my images had been removed. Hopefully this has now been fixed and all images are now visible again. The bike is now running on Mavic Ksyrium Carbon SL Haute-Route wheels and the supplied Mavic tyres.

The bike now weighs in at 6.12kg's so still a way to go but slowly getting there.

Thanks.

I think to get below 6kg you would have to go down the tubular route with the wheels. I had a 2014 SS and got the weight down to 5.86kg. My build was similar to yours, but had very light wheels (approx 1,000g) with Veloflex tubs. Brake calipers can also shed a fair bit, but that's exotica and expensive.

Very nice build by the way.

You could consider changing those Mavic tyres and supposedly heavy inner tubes for Conti Attack/Force and Supersonic tubes to drop some more weight cheap.

Great looking bike.

Would you also have an E30 BMW by any chance?

Cool build! I'm also building up exactly the same frame set but with SRAM Red 22, can you let me know what bottom bracket you have on it.
